Join Our Team as an Electrical Engineer where you will work on the development of a sophisticated state-of-the-art avionics product in a world class Integrated Product Development environment.

Location: This position does not support teleworking; the selected candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in: Sunnyvale CA and work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time.

What does this role look like?

You will be the technical lead serving as the Responsible Product Engineer for overseeing the Thrust Vector Actuator (TVA) system redesign effort. You will lead and coordinate technical design evaluation, changes, own production release , delivery, and all aspects of engineering closeouts (Discrepancy Reports (DR); End-Item Data Packages (EIDP), Material Review Board (MRB), Failure Review Board (FRB), etc.) You will partner and coordinate with suppliers as required.

Key activities you will accomplish in this role:
• Drive TVA redesign across multiple sites and teams (electronics packaging, PWB/CCA design, integration, manufacturing, final assembly).
• Produce and release engineering drawings and specifications.
• Lead requirements definition, concept studies, and detailed design.
• Develop and improve manufacturing processes; qualify hardware through testing.
• Manage discrepancy resolution, failure investigations, and corrective action implementation.
• Support producibility, cost reduction, and obsolescence mitigation initiatives.
• Perform data analysis to validate performance and guide design decisions.

To be effective in this role, you will need:
• Prior product technical ownership experience.
• Experience with design and development of high-reliability electronics or electromechanical systems.
• 5+ years of experience
• While no clearance is needed to start this position, you will need to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance, thus US Citizenship is required.

Basic Qualifications
• Strong understanding of electronic circuit design principles, including analog and digital circuits.
• Prior technical lead or product technical ownership experience (e.g. Certified Principal Engineer (CPE), Responsible Systems Engineer (RSE)).
• Experience with design and development of high-reliability electronics or electromechanical systems.

Desired skills
• Experience with electromechanical actuation systems for aircraft or missile applications
• Technical experience in full life cycle development of complex electromechanical hardware including design, integration, test, production, and sustainment.
• Demonstrated experience with design, test, production, and/or analysis of Guidance, Navigation, and/or Control (GNC) hardware systems.
• Experience conducting failure analysis on Electronics (system, package, CCA, and piece part level)
• Experience with common environmental and performance test methods (e.g. thermal, vibration, shock, EMI/EMC) for high reliability applications (e.g. missile, launch vehicle, or satellite programs).
• Experience with electronic system design, integration, production, or verification for automotive, missile, launch vehicle, and/or satellite programs.
• Excellent communication and technical writing skills.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $104,500 - $184,115. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $120,100 - $208,150. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
