Job Description:

This is an in-office position based in Alpine’s Grand Prairie, TX facility.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design and develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts and control systems for industrial automation equipment.

• Specify and select electrical components (motors, drives, sensors, PLCs, HMIs, wires etc.) based on application requirements.

• Perform load calculations, power distribution design, and ensure compliance with NEC, UL, and other relevant standards.

• Collaborate with mechanical and software engineering teams to integrate electrical systems into complete machinery solutions.

• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for electrical issues during assembly, testing, and commissioning.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to design optimization for cost, reliability, and manufacturability.

• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on best practices.

• Manage change control of components, assemblies and bills of materials.

• Partner with manufacturing and suppliers to develop solutions for meeting cost targets for projects.

• Conduct engineering studies and partner with operations, field services, and customers to diagnose problems, apply root cause analysis, determine cost-effectiveness, efficiency, and reliability.

• Apply the ITW 80/20 business processes, draw conclusions using critical information from available data, and lead projects.

• Travel (10%) to suppliers and customer facilities.

• Ability to lift 25 lbs.

• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

· Requires a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, (BSEE).

· 3-5 years of experience in design engineering working in a product development environment within a cross functional engineering team in the fields of machine design, industrial automation, or material handling equipment design, and/or robotic system design.

· Proficient in the use of 3D modeling software, preferably Creo.

· Proficient in the use of 2D modeling software, preferably AutoCAD Electrical.

· Proficient in the use of ERP system, preferably D365.

· Proficient in the use of work management software, preferably Jira

· Effective oral, interpersonal, and written communications as well as effective presentation skills.

· Experience with robotics, motion control and advanced automation technologies

· Knowledge of UL508A panel design standards
