Job Description

In this role, you will provide reliable technical assistance to internal and external customers. You will provide professional coverage of Technical Support Helpdesk with a specific focus on PLC-controlled machines and subsystems and control systems based on C/C++, C#, and Java programming languages. You will support focus on accuracy, timely feedback, and customer satisfaction. You will drive timely identification, investigation, resolution, root cause analysis and replication of technical issues. You will build internal relationships to expedite complicated cases. You will develop broad understanding of customer needs. You will support the knowledge-sharing mindset, methodology, and tools. You will help develop Technical Support processes. You will ensure proper documenting and recording of all activity and communication. You will address systemic coordination issues.

  • Be part of a team that is solving complex technical problems for external customers
  • Troubleshoot issues related to proprietary software running sortation systems in distribution/fulfillment centers
  • Document details pertaining to issues being worked on
  • Create and provide training
  • Debug software defects and analyze software source code
  • Develop software improvements
  • Test and implement software changes
  • Create root cause analysis documents

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • At least one year of experience with PLC programming and/or programming with C/C++ programming languages
  • At least one year of experience troubleshooting electrical issues
  • At least one year of experience reading, reviewing, and interpreting electrical schematics


WE VALUE
  • Experience in the automation/material handling industry is preferred
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical, network, and/or software issues is preferred
  • Experience programming and/or installing Allen-Bradley/Siemens/Lenze PLCs
  • Experience programming and/or installing Panel View or other HMI systems
  • Experience with C/C++, C#, or Java programming languages
  • Experience with SQL, creating queries, and data analysis
  • Experience with programming and/or installing VFDs, electric motors, and sensing devices
  • Experience with installing and/or configuring industrial networks such as:
  • Ethernet/EtherCAT/Profibus/Modbus/ControlNet/DeviceNet
  • Customer facing experience
  • Demonstrated experience with Knowledge Management & Call Center Management
  • Ability to mentor/Educate engineers
  • Ability to focus on relevant information and identify and execute on key details
  • Ambitious and able to work with little supervision
  • Ability to consistently make and execute timely decisions even in the face of complexity
  • Ability to quickly analyze, incorporate, and apply new information and concepts
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences
