  • Collaborate with Test Group personnel for prototyping and testing new systems.
  • Ensure projects are compliant, functional, and cost-effective.

Apply Engineering principles to design, validate and integrate electrical systems and components used in school and commercial bus applications that set the industry benchmark for safety, performance, reliability and cost.

Position offers a starting salary range of $86,000 - $110,000 USD

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience

What You Drive at DTNA
  • Design school bus electrical systems by applying electrical engineering techniques and principals.
  • Develop 3D models, installation drawings, schematics, and Bills of Materials.
  • Research state-of-the-art developments in the vehicle industry and apply the latest advances to develop low-cost alternatives to current production systems.
  • Provide support for production, warranty reduction and field service corrective actions with reliable, serviceable, low-cost solutions.
  • Foster strong internal relationships with Manufacturing, Field Service, Quality, Purchasing, and other departments.
  • Interface with Test Group personnel to prototype new systems, perform development testing and apply test results to new designs.
  • Ensure projects are cost-effective, functional, and friendly to down-stream departments, and compliant with all applicable regulations.
  • Effectively communicate information to design teams and other departments.


Knowledge You Should Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechatronics or automotive engineering or bachelor's in science from an ABET accredited university/college with 3+ years of related experience
  • Prior automotive design and troubleshooting experience
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated teamwork skills, including cross-functional collaboration
  • Understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes & downstream impacts
  • Experience with identifying and solving the root cause of complex problems
  • Demonstrated ability to accomplish tasks with the highest level of ethics while having a proven track record of developing strong working relationships with fellow employees

  • Experience with CAN communication network protocols
  • Project management
  • Experience with Matlab/Simulink
  • Prior experience with 3D CAD software
