We are seeking a skilled
Electrical Designer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will engage in the designing, developing, and implementing of cutting-edge electrical systems for state-of-the-art industrial and high-tech manufacturing facilities serving global leaders in technology. As an Electrical Designer, you will be involved in electrical design, focusing on low to medium voltage environments. The ideal candidate possesses experience with distribution panel loading, short circuit analysis, voltage drop calculations, conduit and conductor sizing, and cable tray fills.
Responsibilities: - Develop detailed electrical design drawings and technical documentation that support areas such as process equipment installation design packages, tool hookup design, subfab rack and lateral design, and cleanroom and facility modification support.
- Determine conduit, conductor, and wire sizing, meticulously accounting for current loads and environmental variables.
- Assess cable tray fills methodically to guarantee proper cable management, organization, and future scalability.
- Perform detailed short circuit calculations to accurately determine fault currents, select appropriate protective devices, and ensure system safety and reliability.
- Perform precise voltage drop calculations to ensure electrical system stability and compliance with industry standards.
- Ensure all electrical designs strictly adhere to pertinent local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations.
- Apply established electrical design techniques, such as load flow analysis and fault current calculations, and exercise discernment in adapting and modifying design concepts as needed. Uphold quality control by adhering to company and team electrical design standards and industry best practices.
- Will work with other Designers, Sr. Engineers, Project Managers, and other stakeholders on specific assigned objectives, complex features, and aid in deriving possible solutions to unusual problems.
- Foster collaboration, communication, strategy, and support within your team, multidisciplinary groups (Mechanical, Structural, Process/Chemical, Architectural, etc.), and inter-company teams to optimize efficiency, quality, and resource allocation.
Qualifications: - High school diploma or GED is required. An Associate degree in engineering or architectural fields is preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD is required. Experience with other tools such as Revit, ETAP, SKM PowerTools, and/or EasyPower is a plus.
- Ability to produce power distribution schematics, panel schedules, lighting and grounding plans, and other system diagrams aligned with industry standards and client criteria.
- Proficient in interpreting electrical one-line diagrams, creating construction documents, and collaborating within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Knowledge of electrical codes and standards (e.g., National Electric Code, NFPA, etc.).
