Eaton's Electrical Sectors division is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer within the Energy Transition (ET) team. This role is based out of our Moon Township, PA location and offers a hybrid working schedule. The ET team is working on new products and technology that allow for intelligent home electrical power management solutions and improved technical paths for the adoption of renewables and home energy storage devices.
The Electrical Engineer will be part of a cross-functional engineering team and be responsible for performing electronic circuit design, both analog and digital. In addition, the person in this role will support and develop firmware for embedded systems/micro-controllers.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $71,000 - $105,000 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
What you'll do:- Participate in the design of analog and digital circuits, including power supplies, signal conditioning, and microprocessor support circuits.
- Support firmware developments for embedded systems/micro-controllers.
- Contribute to domestic and international project teams assigned to research, design, develop, test and/or launch new innovations; ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Stay abreast of market trends and emerging technologies globally, with an emphasis on embedded and connected systems, and evaluate their potential impact on Eaton business.
- Support the research and development of business case(s) in new product development cycle to understand viability of proposed products in the marketplace.
- Support enhancements and maintenance of existing products based on evaluations of existing and new technologies per Eaton's strategic plans.
- Support the technical evaluations of third-party solutions and assess opportunities to develop partnerships or and new suppliers.
- Participate in product certification activities - UL / CSA.
Qualifications:Basic (required) Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering from an accredited institution.
- Industry experience with residential electrical crcuit protection devices through a co-op or internship program, to include the following:
- Experience working in a cross functional team including mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineers.
- Experience with Altium and embedded firmware development for STM32 or ESP32 microprocessors.
- Experience conducting formal competitive analysis tear downs.
- Ability to travel up to 10%, internationally and domestically.
- No relocation is offered. Candidates must currently reside within a 50-mile radius of Moon Township, PA to be considered. Active-Duty Military are exempt from this geographical limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:- Computer knowledge: MS Office tools, Altium 365, GitHub, Confluence, Jira.
- Experience delivering project updates and technical presentations.
- Experience with AI tools and their use in engineering applications.
