Responsibilities

  • Design electrical systems for diverse building types, particularly healthcare, including backup and emergency power solutions.
  • Direct the design team in developing comprehensive electrical specifications and construction documents.
  • Ensure compliance with specifications during construction, installation, and operational testing phases.
  • Leverage engineering software for detailed modeling and analysis of electrical and lighting systems.
  • Select equipment and fixtures, while conducting necessary field investigations and site visits.
  • Act as Engineer of Record, mentoring junior designers and overseeing their work.
  • Incorporate energy-efficient solutions into designs, adhering to LEED and Energy Star guidelines.

Description

We are seeking a motivated and talented Electrical Engineer to design and coordinate building electrical systems while developing high-quality construction documents. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with a passion for collaboration, innovation, and delivering practical, reliable, and code-compliant solutions. Success in this role requires a commitment to excellence, continuous learning, and exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Designs electrical systems for healthcare, commercial, municipal, office buildings with backup and emergency power systems, including generators, uninterruptable power supplies, and automatic transfer switches.
  • Designs and directs designers in the creation of building designs.
  • Directs activities to ensure that construction, installation, and operational testing conform to specifications and requirements.
  • Uses computer assisted engineering and design software to perform engineering tasks.
  • Designs the modeling and analysis of normal and emergency power distribution systems, the design of life safety systems, the design and modeling of lighting and associated control systems, and coordination with other design professionals.
  • Designs lighting control systems that comply with LEED, Energy Star, and similar energy efficient programs.
  • Make equipment and fixture selections
  • Perform field investigations and site visits
  • Serves as Engineer of Record with directing and mentoring designers
  • Develop construction documents and specifications
  • Follows the NFPA70 (NEC) and other electrical industry codes, standards and recommended practices.


  • Healthcare Experience is required
  • Experience: minimum 8 years' related experience as a licensed professional
  • Computer Skills: Revit, Auto CAD, MEP, MS Office Suite, Trace 3D
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (ABET-accredited)


  • Licenses/Certifications:
  • Current PE License (required)
  • NCEES Registration
  • Licensed in at least one U.S. state
  • LEED, Green Globes, or other sustainability credentials (Preferred)


Travel: up to 20% depending on project

Salary Range $110-160,000K

Pay Range

$110,000.00 Annually to $160,000.00 Annually
