ELECTRICAL ENGINEER 3 • 3249 • LANL • Los Alamos, NM
Duration: 1 Year with two (2) 1 Year Renewal Option
Two (2) Position Available
U.S. citizenship is required (with very limited exceptions)

Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.

JOB SUMMARY :
The Electrical Engineer 3 will perform a full range of design engineering responsibilities in support of facility design, operation, and maintenance activities. This role requires applying broad and diversified knowledge of electrical engineering principles, practices, and DOE - complex requirements.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES :
Responsible for assigned activities within an engineering discipline in support of facility design, operation and maintenance.
Applies broad and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in the preparation of complex engineering analyses.
Performs all aspects of work in engineering operations within discipline.
Performs conventional structural design and analysis.
Provides system integration within and across disciplines.
Provides construction and project support.
May lead projects and supervise the work of others.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Utilizes engineering technology to accomplish work.
Leads work process improvement to meet customer needs.

WORK HOURS :
This role may require a weekend
- shift schedule :
After completion of a training period, employees may work Friday• Monday, 10 - hour shifts.
The training period will follow a Tuesday• Friday, 10 - hour shift schedule.
Shift/weekend assignments are determined by management based on operational needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS- EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET - accredited institution.
Minimum 15 years of relevant engineering experience aligned with the responsibilities above.

Experience:
Working knowledge of industry, regulatory, and DOE/NNSA codes, standards, and criteria relevant to electrical engineering.
Proven knowledge of commonly applied codes and standards at DOE and DoD facilities (e.g., NQA - 1, IBC, NFPA, NEC).
Prior experience facilitating and developing engineering design packages.
Familiarity with typical engineering deliverables (e.g., construction documents).
Experience with computer - aided design/drafting software or markup tools.

Security Access:
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance.
