Full Job Description
Electrical Design Engineer

Purpose:
  • Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for an Electrical Design Engineer to join our team supporting development, integration, test, and evaluation of complex military systems in Huntsville, AL.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience with the entire electrical design cycle of military systems.

Job Description:
  • Conducts and supports the development of requirements for electrical power systems for military products.
  • Conducts analysis, design, development, integration and test of electrical power systems for military products.
  • Participates in the development of trade studies, analysis of alternatives, and capability analysis.
  • Tests and evaluates electrical systems with a team of engineers.
  • Develops test fixtures and prototypes to diagnose or test specific components.
  • Create and maintain cable diagrams and schematics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful integration of electrical systems hardware.
  • Provide technical support to other teams as needed.
  • Interaction with customers and vendors will be required.

Qualifications:
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related engineering or science field with a minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical systems hardware design and integration.
  • Must be familiar with Cable Diagrams and Schematics.
  • Must have excellent skills in Customer and Team Communication and Collaboration.
  • Must have the ability to work with software and hardware.
  • Multitasking of multiple parallel efforts.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with developing technical design packages for complex engineering systems, preferred.
  • Experience with presenting and defending technical designs and analyses, preferred.
  • Circuit and Printed Circuit Board Design, preferred.
  • Toolsets and familiarity: Altium, Microsoft Visual Studio Code, MATLAB, National Instruments LabView, etc, preferred.
  • Army programs (DEVCOM Aviation and Missile Center, Space and Missile Defense Command), preferred.
  • Experience with flight test preparation and support, preferred.

Security Requirements
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Travel Requirements
  • Occasional travel- less than 10%
  • If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements
  • May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment.
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods, moving about to accomplish tasks, or moving from one worksite to another.
  • Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
