Full Job Description
Position Summary: The purpose of this job is to perform a very wide variety of electrical and mechanical engineering tasks including but not limited to installation, fabrication, assembly, set-up, diagnosis, troubleshooting of plant equipment, services and facilities, project management as well as working with and training plant electrical staff. The primary responsibilities will be the maintenance and upgrade of the plant's packaging equipment, from an equipment obsolescence/modernization as well as a capacity/capability upgrade perspective. Strong mechanical and controls design and programming skills are required as this role will be the only full-time engineer for the site, supported by a remote team of engineers in Corning, NY. This role will be self-driven and will require alignment to the production schedule of the factory operation.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Uses programming software to troubleshoot and program PLCs, Robots, HMIs, working primarily with Rockwell/Allen Bradly and Schneider / Modicon
  • Make updates and changes to plant documentation using AutoCAD Mechanical / Electrical
  • Safely performs troubleshooting work on energized equipment
  • Operates a wide variety of equipment such as multi-meters, voltmeters, o-scopes, other electrical diagnostic equipment, carts, ladders, lifts, etc.
  • Calibrate sensors
  • Design, build and implement test equipment to support production and engineering operations
  • Provides cross-training for other skills
  • Will be a member of a work team that utilizes business skills such as, writing and entering Appropriation Requests, collaborating with other off-site plant engineering teams, time distribution, quotes and estimates, use of office software in performance of duties, etc.
  • Works independently, coordinates teams as required
  • Displays innovativeness when dealing with complex problems, trains others in maintenance techniques designed for sensitive processes
  • Work as a member of a team, writes process documentation, prepares maintenance projects and layouts, interfaces with customers, vendors, and suppliers, responsible for the quality of work, timeliness, safe work methods, practices, etc.


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or other Engineering degree with appropriate proven Technical Training/Experience
  • Understanding of electrical theory and best practices
  • Effort equivalent to handling 16-50 lbs., works overhead in tiring awkward positions, performs bench work repairing instruments and motors, etc.
  • Machinery repair including troubleshooting live circuitry
  • Mechanical aptitude, design knowledge and an understanding of packaging equipment


Comp Range: $85k-$105k. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future.
