Full Job Description
The Electrical and InstrumentationTech (E&I Tech) installs, maintains, troubleshoots, tests, and repairs in a safe, reliable manner all instrumentation, controls, electrical machinery, and auxiliaries for electrical equipment and plant instrumentation. Main Responsibilities: 1. Maintains safe working conditions: identifies and corrects or reports unsafe conditions in work areas. 2. Performs assignments in conformance with all published Company operating and safety policies and procedures. 3. Works to blueprints, sketches, and other written instructions; completes corrective maintenance and overhauls; and improves operation of instruments, controls, and metering and electrical equipment installed in the plant. 4. Overhauls electrical cabinet parts and plant equipment. 5. Performs routine instrument calibration for portable meters including, but not limited to dissolved oxygen, pH, H2S, percent oxygen, lower explosive limit. 6. Performs preventive maintenance on assigned equipment in Company facilities. Effects electrical maintenance in accordance with all local and national codes. 7. Analyzes instrument, control, and problems and takes appropriate action to correct deficiencies. 8. Analyzes electrical equipment and system problems and takes appropriate action to correct deficiencies. 9. Advises supervisor when work is beyond Company's capability to correct and recommends the need for outside assistance of vendors, engineering contractors, and consultants as necessary. 10. Maintains records and files of readings and data taken during overhauls and preventive maintenance. 11. Utilizes the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to efficiently manage and track work orders. Ensures timely follow-up on assigned tasks and provides comprehensive reports upon completion of each work order. 12. Takes rotating, on-call, back shifts, and holidays. 13. Other tasks as assigned by management. Qualifications - High school diploma or GED equivalent - 5 years' experience in the repair and maintenance of industrial instrumentation and controls with a thorough understanding of the principles of control theory. - 1-3 years of High voltage repair and maintenance (Highly preferred) - 1-3 years of CMMS experience - Electrician Redseal - Instrumentation and Control Technician Redseal (preferred in addition to the electrician) - Must hold and maintain a valid driver's license - Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics and technical manuals - Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing concerning technical reports, recommendations, and routine paperwork - Familiar with and able to use various test equipment such as multi meters, combustion analyzers, and frequency generators and counters in order to calibrate and troubleshoot instruments and measuring equipment - Ability to work with VFDs and modify their parameters as necessary - Knowledge of PLC and DCS controlled systems troubleshooting - Working knowledge of personal computers and applications programs - Any Experience with CEMS would be an asset Work Environment: Permanent position, offered on a full-time basis, from Monday to Friday. Ability to kneel, crawl and climb and tolerate heights up to 75 feet and to tolerate confined spaces including but not limited to manholes and boilers and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Salary: 61.16$/h
