Job Title Electrical and Instrumentation Specialist Location Virginia Beach, VA, US Organization Name Electrical and Instrumentation Eastern Shore Work Schedule and Other Information This position is solely based on being a resident of the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Candidates who are willing to relocate to the Eastern Shore may apply. No relocation assistance will be provided. This position will require travel to the SS Operations facilities in Virginia Beach for training/work on occasion. E&I staff will report to Onancock Treatment Plant starting at 0700 - 1530. E&I staff will also be required to work occasional overtime and be in an On-Call rotation. HRSD's Electrical and Instrumentation Specialist can be fully qualified as defined below. If not fully qualified, it is a trade in our apprenticeship program. A combination of on the job training and an Associates degree in a relevant field must be pursued to become fully qualified. You will be required to take college classes towards the AS degree within HRSD's service area or online. 100% tuition assistance for classes, textbooks and fees. Also mileage to/from the institution will be paid per HRSD HR manual. This position may be part of a team that performs E&I services to complete projects within the service area or may be assigned to provide support on contracted construction projects.The Electrical and Instrumentation Specialist is primarily responsible for installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of industrial power and process control systems. The Electrical and Instrumentation Specialist may also provide support for electric/electronic lab equipment, security, and remote telemetry systems. In addition, the Specialist may also perform design and specification reviews to support the construction of new HRSD facilities. Brief Description The Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Specialist performs skilled maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical, pneumatic, and computer-controlled equipment and related controls. Troubleshoots and maintains complex, technical, and potentially hazardous systems, and may serve in a lead role to coordinate work activities with work center leadership.
