Job Purpose and Responsibilities:- EHSS Culture owner for Cobourg site, fostering a zero-injury work environment
- Implement and maintain effective EHSS programs to ensure results and capability exceed company, OHSA and MOL guidelines;
- Provide strong leadership to drive strategic and technical improvements and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and SABIC standards for all Site EHSS programs including: air, water, waste, safety, Hazardous Material transportation, security, Chemical Importation, Emergency Response and Preparedness, Process Safety Management, contractor management safety and EHSS Training
- Leads site safety, behavioral based safety (BBS), ergonomics and Industrial Hygiene program
- Ensures appropriate development of permit applications and implementation of permit requirement; data, reports, records and documents are collected, prepared, submitted and maintained as required by corporate policy and government regulations
- Acts as an immediate contact for operators and associates on the production floor concerning environmental, health, safety and security related needs and issues
- Manages EHSS expense budgets and directs/inputs on capital projects.
- Coordination of ISO 14001 certification
- Occupational health and medical surveillance collaboration.
- Safe return to work in partnership with medical and operations
- WSIB claim management
- Collaborate with global team on new safety initiatives and EHSS programs.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements:• You must have unrestricted authorization to work in Canada.
• 3+ years' experience leading EHSS programs (preferrable in manufacturing)
- Post-Secondary Education, Technical or advanced degree; and/or equivalent experience.
• Outstanding team building and collaboration skills
• Excellent leadership, management and mentoring skills, inclusive of an understanding of behavioral management techniques.
• Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• You must be willing to submit to a background investigation & complete a pre-placement medical assessment as part of the selection process
Desired Qualifications/Education/Experience:• Canadian Registered Safety Professional
• Post Secondary EHSS Education or Certification
• 3+ years' experience leading EHSS programs within a manufacturing environment
• Strong working knowledge of environmental regulatory and compliance legislation and a familiarity with OHSA regulations, experience with Process Safety Management, training integration and cost management
• Proven track record of injury prevention/control and incident rate reduction.
• Solid knowledge of EHSS processes and programs
• Experience with EHSS record keeping systems
- Advanced capabilities with Microsoft Excel
