Full Job Description

Job Summary
The EHS Specialist II will support the implementation and maintenance of environmental, health, and safety programs at Augusta Life Sciences US OpCo I LLC to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and company policies. This role involves promoting a safe work environment and contributing to continuous improvement in EHS performance.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular EHS inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (OSHA, EPA, etc.) and company standards.

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of EHS policies, procedures, and training programs.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for occupational health and safety programs, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space, Ergonomics, and Hot Work, ensuring full compliance with Cal/OSHA Title 8 regulations.

  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, identify root causes, and recommend corrective and preventative actions.

  • Manage hazardous waste programs, including waste characterization, disposal, and record-keeping.

  • Lead the emergency response team and drills to support emergency preparedness across site.

  • Collaborate with various departments to integrate EHS considerations into daily operations and new projects.

  • Provide EHS training and awareness sessions to employees on various topics such as hazard communication, lockout/tagout, confined space entry, and personal protective equipment.

  • Stay updated on new EHS regulations and industry best practices to ensure continuous improvement of EHS programs.


Required Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related STEM field.

  • 2-5 years of experience in an EHS role within a manufacturing or life sciences environment.

  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, CERS, eVQ, and other relevant federal, state, and local EHS regulations.

  • Demonstrated experience in conducting EHS inspections, audits, and incident investigations.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform physical tasks associated with EHS activities.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Experience with EHS management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001) is desirable.

  • EHS certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) are a plus.

  • Experience with behavior-based safety (BBS) programs or safety culture initiatives, including leading safety observations and driving employee engagement.

  • Familiarity with process safety and risk assessment methodologies (e.g., HAZOP, Job Safety Analysis, Risk Assessment and Effects Analysis - FMEA).

  • Experience supporting EHS in regulated environments (GMP, FDA, or ISO-regulated life sciences manufacturing), including audit readiness and documentation control.
