EHS Specialist, EH&S Culture and CompetenceAs the EHS Specialist for EH&S Culture and Competence you will support the development and implementation of health and safety culture and competency initiatives across Otis WHQ operations. In this role, you will work closely with the Manager, EH&S Culture and Competence, global field learning, operations and the five regional business units to help identify, coordinate, and support training and learning needs, while assisting with health and safety compliance activities. This position reports to the Director, EH&S, and has no direct reports.
This role can be located anywhere in the United States or Canada.
Description / Responsibilities include:- Collaborate with other departments and/or third parties to develop/update training materials including in-person on-site field visits to better understand requirements/applications as necessary. This material includes but is not limited to scenario-based content and interactive training for maximum audience engagement
- Assist with development of basic core curriculum content as outlined in Otis' policy
- Collaborate with regions and functions regarding different cultural approaches to develop Otis' framework and support teams with their implementation strategies
- Support Organizational Change Management efforts (content to be translatable and easily modified or adjusted to address changing environment and risks)
- Support regions to ensure that EHS Management System changes are properly reflected in the global training content
- Monitor/reports/ensure all Global Corrective Action Plans (CAP) are closed out on time in the Otis system
- Work with global field training, technical and EHS teams to establish or adopt global best practices
- Provision of support to field to access global training content (working with Workday to identify issue)
- Testing new and/or modified material to ensure that it is functioning as designed
- Collaborate with legal to review training content for global distribution and for dissemination to subcontractors
- Routinely update training material to ensure compliance, emerging issues and risks are addressed
- Support Season of Safety (SoS) and other initiatives as they arise
- Work with Communications to create SoS communication plan and to develop content to execute plan
Experience/Qualifications Required:- A minimum of 3 years of EH&S experience or 5 years of elevator technical field experience
- EH&S in a field service/operations environment is preferred
- A broad understanding of all matters related to EH&S in a service environment
- Knowledge of management systems, policies, strategies, and systems needed to implement an EH&S Management System
- Strong interpersonal, planning, and collaboration skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Flexible attitude to meet global communication needs
- Ability to work in field operations environment, including walking up multiple flights, navigating constructions sites and other remote work environments
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Training Development Software)
- Ability to quickly gain working knowledge of software programs
- Prior elevator specific technical knowledge is an asset
The salary range for this role is $100,000-$110,000. Pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
