Job Description

Environmental, Health & Safety Manager - TIMET Henderson, NV

Summary

Establish programs, guidelines and strategies to manage health, safety, workers compensation, security and environmental opportunities at the Henderson site. The scope of this position includes employee training, new hire orientation, operational safety, environmental, workers compensation, site security and maintenance issues. Manage and coordinate safety and environmental compliance initiatives, projects, corrective actions, and incident investigations.

Essential Functions

Leads and maintains an integrated management system in alignment with Corporate EHSS, including policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines.

Ensures departmental direction and goals are aligned with corporate strategies. Performs both short term and long range planning and develops initiatives and action plans to achieve these goals.

Responsible for departmental staff performance; manages and develops staff's talent.

Manage and coordinate the workers compensation program for Henderson.

Provide recommendations to improve workers compensation program to provide efficiencies.

Oversee the TIMET Henderson Safety Committees.

Lead the TIMET Henderson Safety Review Board.

Conduct / coordinate major accident investigations and issue safety corrective actions.

Manage all injury situations from immediate injury through return to work.

Review and analyze safety statistics and data. Take action as required.

Monitor & evaluate in-house HSE training classes.

Manage Henderson's new employee orientation HSE training.

Work closely with the Senior Staff on Quality and CI initiatives.

Oversee SafeTrack incident reporting software and track the status of corrective action follow-up, and issue reports.

Conduct periodic safety audits. Report findings. Take action to address findings.

Oversee new safety programs and initiatives to increase awareness and reduce the potential for accidents and exposures.

Reports on Health, Safety and Environment key performance indicators as required- weekly, monthly, annual.

Supervise the radiation safety and film badge-monitoring program.

Manage Industrial Hygiene Program, Hearing Conservation Program, Respiratory Protection Program, Hazard Communication Program, and Management of Change as required.

Coordinate safety data sheets management in conformance with Federal and State regulations.

Report monthly statistics, audits, etc. to the Corporation.

Stay current on the various regulatory (OSHA) requirements and changes. Continue an active personal/professional development program through selected seminars, home study courses, trade magazines, books, journals, etc.

Provide shipping support for operations implementing Hazardous Materials Regulations

Education and Experience

Four year college degree in safety or related field and ten years of related experience.

Technical training skills, auditing, and supervisor experience desired.

Willingness to work in a 24hour 7 day per week manufacturing environment

Ability to travel to other TIMET facilities.

Ability to work a flexible schedule with weekend and/or back shift hours as required.

Strong organizational and communication skills. Good writing skills.

Ability to focus on details and understand the overall impact of events and decisions.

Demonstrated competency in the technical and training skills required to fulfill the position's responsibilities.

Knowledge of OSHA and NVCAP requirements and the potential safety hazards that can exist at TIMET.

Knowledge of Environmental requirements and the potential hazards that can exist at TIMET.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with personnel at all organizational levels.

Strong Computer Skills (database, word processing, spreadsheet, etc.).

Relocation is authorized for this position.

This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
