Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager
Position Overview
IntePros is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to provide EHS leadership and support within a high-volume manufacturing environment in Cabot, Vermont.
This individual will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental, health, and safety programs while partnering closely with plant leadership, operations, maintenance, engineering, and HR. The EHS Manager will serve as a key resource for regulatory compliance, workplace safety, environmental programs, incident prevention, and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate has hands-on EHS experience within a manufacturing environment and can effectively influence safety performance at all levels of an organization.
Key Responsibilities
EHS Leadership & Safety Culture
  • Lead environmental, health, and safety programs across the manufacturing campus, with a primary focus on plant operations.
  • Develop and maintain programs that promote safe work practices, employee engagement, and a proactive safety culture.
  • Partner with leaders and employees to identify, evaluate, and mitigate workplace hazards.
  • Serve as a key resource for Safety Committees, Emergency Response Teams, and site leadership.
  • Promote continuous improvement and behavior-based safety practices throughout the organization.
Incident Prevention & Corrective Action
  • Lead workplace incident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Conduct facility inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments.
  • Evaluate equipment, processes, and work environments to identify opportunities for safety and ergonomic improvements.
  • Recommend appropriate engineering controls, administrative controls, and PPE.
Regulatory & Environmental Compliance
  • Maintain compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, DOT, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintain required EHS documentation, permits, records, and regulatory reports.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external compliance audits and regulatory inspections.
  • Monitor changes to EHS regulations and implement changes necessary to maintain compliance.
  • Support environmental and sustainability initiatives, including waste management and environmental reporting.
Training & Employee Safety
  • Conduct new-hire safety orientation and required annual EHS training.
  • Support employee education related to OSHA, EPA, DOT, and company safety requirements.
  • Partner with employees and management to reinforce safe work practices.
  • Support workers' compensation case management, return-to-work programs, and injury-prevention initiatives.
EHS Metrics & Continuous Improvement
  • Track, analyze, and report EHS performance metrics, trends, and KPIs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workplace safety and environmental performance.
  • Utilize continuous improvement methodologies to strengthen EHS processes.
  • Work cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, engineering, HR, and other stakeholders to support plant objectives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related technical field preferred.
  • Approximately 3 to 5 years of related EHS experience within a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading EHS programs and influencing safety performance across an organization.
  • Experience leading regulatory audits, environmental compliance programs, and safety management systems.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies and behavior-based safety programs.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with EHS reporting systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CSP, ASP, CHMM, or similar professional EHS certification.
  • Experience within food manufacturing, dairy processing, or another regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting regulatory inspections and compliance audits.
  • Strong background in environmental compliance and safety management systems.
Location & Compensation
This is an onsite position in Cabot, Vermont. Candidates must be able to work onsite and employment sponsorship is not available for this opportunity.
Salary Range: $93,000 to $103,000, with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional development and advancement.
