Our Nuclear Team is seeking an experienced EHS Manager - Fabrication Facility to lead environmental, health and safety performance within our fabrication operations. This role will support Aecon's integrated fabrication network and play a key leadership role in protecting our people, the environment, and the integrity of nuclear-safety-significant work. Supporting Aecon's fabrication facilities in Cambridge and Brantford, this role will require travel between both locations.
The EHS Manager will be responsible for embedding Aecon's Environmental, Health & Safety Management System into daily fabrication activities, driving critical risk management, supporting nuclear safety culture, and enabling operational leaders to own EHS performance through coaching, systems, data, and visible field leadership.
What You'll Do Here: - Lead EHS performance across fabrication operations through visible field leadership, coaching, and proactive risk management
- Implement and sustain Aecon's EHS Management System, site-specific EHS plans, audits, corrective actions, and regulatory readiness
- Drive Critical Risk Management and the APEX EHS Management system implementation, including critical control verifications, leading and lagging indicator reviews, and corrective action planning
- Manage occupational health and industrial hygiene risks such as welding fume, confined spaces, noise, silica, ergonomics, PPE, respirator programs, painting activities, and exposure monitoring
- Support environmental compliance, spill prevention and response, WHMIS/SDS management, waste segregation, inspections, and audits
- Champion nuclear safety culture, human performance tools, Foreign Material Exclusion awareness, and procedural adherence
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of EHS Advisors while promoting inclusion, accountability, and psychological safety
- Represent Aecon with internal stakeholders, clients, regulators, the JHSC, subcontractors, vendors, and visitors on EHS matters
- Combination of shop floor and office environments with regular field presence at both locations required
- May involve extended periods of standing, walking, climbing, and exposure to controlled shop-floor hazards such as welding fume, noise, moving loads, and mobile equipment.
- Travel of up to approximately 20% to other Aecon fabrication sites in Canada and the U.S. may be required
What You Bring To The Team:- Minimum 7 years of progressive EHS experience in construction, heavy industrial, fabrication, or similar environments, including at least 2 years leading a team
- Direct experience in a fabrication shop, nuclear generating station, or nuclear supply-chain environment is strongly preferred
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Occupational Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation required; CRST or CHSCO may be considered with a documented progression plan to CRSP
- Working knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, Ontario OHSA and Regulation 851; awareness of ASME NQA-1 and CSA N286 is an asset
- NCSO, COR Internal Auditor, ASP/CSP, or internal auditor certification are considered assets
- Strong digital fluency with tools such as SiteDocs, Cority, PowerBI, Microsoft 365, and AI-enabled reporting or analysis tools
- OPG or Bruce Power security clearance is strongly preferred

Salary range: $120,000 - $140,000
Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
