Full Job Description
Purpose and Scope

The primary responsibility of this position is to establish direction and leadership for the development, implementation, and ongoing management of industry leading environmental, health, safety, and ergonomic programs in a way that demonstrates Timken's commitment to safety and environmental sustainability with the aim of eliminating accidents, property loss, harm to the environment, and compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal rules and regulations.

Responsabilities
  • Expert source of knowledge concerning all Federal, State and local rules and regulations pertaining to Environmental and Safety regulations and good industry practice.
  • Advise management on governmental regulation relating to EH; recommend necessary actions to obtain compliance and develops procedures and projects to assure continuing compliance with EHS regulations and company standards.
  • Submits in a proper manner all necessary reports, statistics and responds to the agencies/corporate correspondence. (external and internal reporting).
  • Maintain relationships with regulatory, governmental agency personnel and Corporate EHS Department and represents organization at external forums.
  • Coordinate and maintain records for ongoing audits in areas of Civil Protection, MIA, LAU,FM Global, and other mandatory agencies.
  • Develop processes, tools and training modules to help identify and minimize EHS risk; drive cost savings, educate and engage associates, and promote the company's philosophy for a safe and healthy workplace.
  • Thorough investigation of all EHS incidents including robust, permanent countermeasures
  • Conduct safety audits of company facilities, make recommendations, and perform in a consulting role to maintain federal, state, and local compliance.
  • Maintain confidential employee records and take corrective action to eliminate work-related injury/ill-ness.
  • Work closely with medical team to establish and maintain Medical first responders
  • Guide and assist Fire Brigade team members to maintain fire containment skills and coordinate with local fire protection agency.
  • Coordinate and lead other necessary brigades (evacuation, rescue, first aid and maintain compliance
  • Support the facilities in achieving goals to meet EHS compliance obligations, identifying and reducing risk, and improving efficiency through ergonomic improvements, and waste, water and energy reduction.
  • Implement, maintain and improve systems (e.g. software, processes) used to collect and manage EHS metrics, requirements and records. Support includes software implementation and maintenance, user access and training, data entry, report generation and record maintenance.


Technical Skills
  • Experience complying with local, state, and federal safety/environmental regulations
  • Ability to establish processes and standards as a way to apply consistent practices throughout the business
  • Ability to compile, analyze and interpret data to drive improvement and identify good practices
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.


Education / Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Indistrial or EHS Engineering or related field (certified).
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience as a EHS Engineer in manufacturing industry.
