Description

Job Summary

The Educational Technology and Platform Specialist is an individual contributor role providing advanced technical expertise and system level oversight for the IEEE Learning Network (ILN, IEEE's learning management system). Serves as a subject matter expert for complex troubleshooting, platform optimization, integrations, and process improvement.

This position functions as an individual contributor.

Note: This role does not involve instructional design, curriculum development, or content creation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead advanced troubleshooting and serve as escalation point for complex issues
  • Partner with IT to oversee platform integrations, enhancements, customizations, and maintenance
  • Coordinate requirements gathering, stakeholder communication, testing, and post release validation
  • Analyze usage data to identify trends, insights, and improvement opportunities
  • Lead UAT efforts, including script creation and validation coordination
  • Design and document system configurations to support business needs
  • Lead onboarding and implementation for new ILN partners
  • Maintain catalog records aligned with MARC standards
  • Research industry trends and recommend improvements to support and operations
  • Provide backup support to the Administrator
  • Contribute to additional Educational Activities projects as assigned


Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Pref


Work Experience

  • 4-7 years Learning management system administration, educational technology, and/or technical support required Req


Skills and Requirements

  • Required experience with LMS administration, educational technology, or technical support
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
  • Strong understanding of platform workflows, integrations, and system interactionsStrong analytical, documentation, and data validation abilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, strict attention to detail and excellent problem solver
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Experience with system integrations, SCORM standards, MARC records/KBART files, HTML/CSS, and/or JIRA is a plus
  • Experience translating business needs into technical requirements
  • Skilled in UAT script writing and execution a plus
