The base salary will be $71,970 - $102,690 per annum. Starting salary will be aligned with the successful candidate's experience, skills, and demonstrated qualifications.

Please note, this is a 1-year temporary full-time contract opportunity. This contract includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

The Education Developer provides specialized educational development and implementation leadership for the Physician Assistant Program, with particular emphasis on curriculum implementation, learner assessment, program evaluation, continuous quality improvement, and accreditation readiness. Working collaboratively with program leadership, faculty, committees, and educational partners, the role develops and implements evidence-informed frameworks, systems, and processes that support the delivery and ongoing development of a high-quality professional graduate program. The role leads complex, interdependent initiatives associated with the implementation of the classroom-based and clinical components of the curriculum and coordinates the development of the program's inaugural accreditation application. The role provides expert guidance to ensure that curriculum, assessment, evaluation, and quality assurance activities are aligned with program competencies, intended educational outcomes, evolving accreditation standards, and best practices in health professions education.

Qualifications

Education:
  • Master's degree in health professions education, health or biomedical sciences, or a related discipline
  • PhD or equivalent doctoral degree preferred
  • Advanced education or professional development in assessment, program evaluation, quality improvement, accreditation, curriculum development, or project management is preferred

Experience:
  • 5 years of experience supporting the development, implementation, evaluation, or quality assurance of complex educational or professional programs
  • Experience developing or implementing curriculum, learner assessment, program evaluation, or continuous quality improvement frameworks
  • Experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder projects, committees, or program-development initiatives
  • Experience analyzing and synthesizing quantitative and qualitative information to support educational or program-level decision-making
  • Experience preparing complex reports, recommendations, self-studies, evidence summaries, or other documentation for internal or external review
  • Experience within health professions education, medical education, a professional graduate program, or a complex post-secondary academic environment preferred
  • Experience interpreting accreditation standards and coordinating accreditation, quality assurance, institutional review, or external review processes preferred
  • Experience developing competency-based curricula and assessment strategies preferred
  • Experience supporting the implementation or launch of a new academic or professional program preferred
  • Experience chairing or providing leadership to academic, assessment, curriculum, evaluation, or quality improvement committees preferred
  • University-level teaching, faculty development, educational consulting, or curriculum-development experience preferred
  • Formal experience in project management, change management, educational research, or program evaluation preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • In-depth knowledge of curriculum design, instructional design, adult learning principles, competency-based education, and evidence-informed teaching and learning practices
  • In-depth knowledge of learner assessment principles, including validity, reliability, alignment, fairness, and the appropriate use and interpretation of assessment data
  • Knowledge of program evaluation methodologies, quality assurance practices, continuous quality improvement, and evidence-informed decision-making
  • Knowledge of accreditation principles and the ability to interpret standards, assess compliance, identify evidence requirements, and develop sustainable readiness processes
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to synthesize complex quantitative and qualitative information and translate findings into practical recommendations
  • Demonstrated project leadership skills, with the ability to define scope, establish priorities, manage dependencies and risks, coordinate deliverables, and meet multiple deadlines
  • Ability to provide credible, evidence-informed advice and influence decisions in a collaborative academic environment without relying on formal authority
  • Ability to collaborate across organizational and disciplinary boundaries and establish effective relationships with faculty, academic leaders, administrators, committees and external partners
  • Strong facilitation and committee-leadership skills, with the ability to build consensus, manage differing perspectives, and advance complex initiatives
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear reports, frameworks, policies, self-studies, presentations, and accreditation documentation for varied audiences
  • Sound judgment, discretion, diplomacy, and political acuity when managing sensitive, ambiguous, or high-impact academic and program matters
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage concurrent priorities and complex bodies of evidence with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to work independently, identify emerging needs, exercise initiative, and adapt plans in response to changing program and accreditation requirements
  • Ability to develop sustainable systems, processes, tools, and documentation that can transition effectively into ongoing program operations
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office and familiarity with learning management, curriculum, assessment, survey, project-management, data-analysis, and document-management systems
