EDI Application Developer for a remote opportunity for candidates working EST hours. The Candidate will support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of enterprise EDI applications within a complex distributed environment. This role focuses on application development, production support, troubleshooting, and system integration while collaborating with cross-functional technical teams to ensure reliable and efficient business operations.
Required Qualifications for the EDI Application Developer:- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- 6+ years of experience in application development, systems support, software testing, or a related technical discipline.
- Strong experience working in UNIX/Linux environments, including command-line tools and shell scripting.
- Proficiency developing applications using C/C++.
- Experience writing SQL queries and supporting relational database systems.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex, multi-tier distributed applications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently in a remote environment.
Preferred Skills/Experience of the EDI Application Developer:- Experience developing applications with Python.
- Familiarity with enterprise EDI environments and ANSI X12 transaction standards.
- Experience integrating applications using APIs and authentication technologies such as LDAP.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS.
- Experience with automated testing or AI-assisted development tools.
- Background supporting healthcare or other highly regulated industries.
Responsibilities of the EDI Application Developer:- Support, maintain, and enhance enterprise EDI applications and translation platforms.
- Troubleshoot production issues by analyzing application behavior, system logs, and database interactions.
- Develop and maintain UNIX/Linux shell scripts that support application processing.
- Collaborate with developers, support teams, and business stakeholders to resolve technical issues and implement system improvements.
- Participate in application testing, deployments, production support, and ongoing system enhancements.
- Document technical findings, troubleshooting activities, and system changes while helping ensure application stability and performance.
