Full Job Description
The HR Manager contributes to the company's performance by providing both strategic and tactical human resources support across various functional areas. This role acts as a trusted HR consultant and partner to internal stakeholders, driving alignment between business needs and HR practices. The HR Manager performs a wide range of HR-related duties, with a focus on optimizing organizational effectiveness, enhancing the employee experience, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and policies.
This is a hybrid position that requires onsite work from our Toronto office on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as a strategic partner to internal stakeholders by providing guidance on HR programs, practices, and employee relations.
• Support and implement HR initiatives across functions including talent acquisition, talent management, compensation, payroll, employee relations, policy interpretation, training, communication, and safety.
• Collaborate with Talent Acquisition on employment branding initiatives and recruiting strategies to attract and retain top talent.
• Contribute to the design and delivery of programs that drive employee engagement and operational effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws, as well as internal HR policies and procedures.
• Provide HR project leadership by managing timelines, coordinating cross-functional efforts, and tracking progress on key initiatives.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation plans for HR-related projects; capture and share lessons learned to improve future project execution.
• Analyze data and trends to support decision-making and continuous improvement in HR practices.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in an HR generalist or HR business partner capacity.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and organizational development principles.
• Proven experience managing HR initiatives and supporting internal clients without direct team supervision.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and consultative skills.
• Strong project management and problem-solving abilities.
Generac is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role based in Toronto, ON is $120,000 - $150,000 CAD. This compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications and geographic location. This role is eligible for variable compensation including short term and long-term incentives.
