Responsibilities

Perform routine and complex echocardiographic imaging procedures per departmental guidelines
Critique positioning, technical factors, and alignment to maintain acceptable imaging quality standards
Review patient data for accuracy and completeness prior to procedures
Document all imaging studies accurately in the electronic system
Cross-train in other divisions within Cardiovascular Services as needed
Administer contrast agents when appropriate
Participate in on-call rotation with team members, providing support during weekdays and weekends

- Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks while coordinating patient flow

Description:
Performs routine and complex echocardiographic sonography imaging procedures following departmental guidelines.
Demonstrates acceptable imaging quality standards by critiquing positioning, technical factors, and alignment.
Reviews patient data for accuracy, quality, and completeness.
Documents accurately and completely.
Cross-trains to other divisions of Cardiovascular Services.
Administers contrast when needed and not contraindicated.
Completes documentation of studies performed and charges in the electronic system as well as preliminary information for physician reading.
Participates in a rotation of call throughout the week and on weekends with other team members.
Is team-minded and provides compassionate care and quality studies to patients.
Performs all forms of Echo testing including Exercise Stress, Dobutamine Stress, standard Echocardiograms, Pediatric Echocardiograms, and Transesophageal Echocardiograms in a timely fashion.
Seeks to advance knowledge in all aspects of echocardiography with an open mind to constructive learning and teaching.
