Full Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION

As the Early Engagement Marketing Strategy, VP within the Business Banking Loyalty Generation Marketing team, you will lead and continually optimize the onboarding experience for new Business Banking deposit clients. The team builds marketing and educational materials that connect small business customers to the right products and features at the right time, educates and advocates for them along their business journey.

The New Client Onboarding Marketing Strategy Lead is responsible for continually optimizing and evolving the onboarding experience for new Business Banking deposit clients, welcoming customers to Chase for Business, accelerating completion of critical early setup behaviors (e.g., funding, fraud protection, digital readiness), and establishing a strong foundation for long-term loyalty, engagement, and primacy.

This always-on, multi-channel program spans email, direct mail, ads, landing pages, and digital nudges. Anchored in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, it is continuously optimized to deliver increasingly personalized, moment-based outreach that reduces friction, builds confidence, and drives early activation.

This role partners closely with Analytics to build a disciplined test-and-learn engine and collaborates across Product, Digital Customer Experience, Creative, Operations, and control functions (including Legal, Regulatory, and Risk/Compliance) to ensure the program is both customer-forward and compliant.

A successful leader brings deep curiosity about what motivates customer action, translates behavioral and performance insights into program enhancements, and ensures a coordinated experience across touchpoints.

Job Responsibilities

  • Own the new client onboarding strategy and roadmap for Business Banking deposit customers, including end-to-end journey architecture, segmentation/personalization approach, messaging strategy, and channel orchestration (email, landing pages, digital nudges, direct mail, ads).
  • Drive early activation by guiding customers through critical setup actions (e.g., funding, fraud protection, digital access/alerts), reducing friction and building confidence in the first days of the relationship.
  • Evolve the program to drive primacy and relationship deepening through early product/feature awareness, education, and next-best-action pathways informed by customer needs and behaviors.
  • Lead measurement, experimentation, optimization, and performance storytelling in partnership with Analytics—defining KPIs, building hypotheses, running tests, translating insights into improvements, and delivering clear readouts and recommendations.
  • Develop and apply Personalization & Insights (P&I) attributes to support audience targeting, segmentation, and test-and-learn strategies, while leveraging approved AI-enabled workflows (where permitted) to accelerate insight generation, content development/iteration, and personalization exploration—ensuring appropriate human review, controls, and adherence to brand and regulatory standards. Lead and develop a team of execution-focused direct reports, setting priorities and ensuring consistently high-quality delivery.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (Product, Digital Customer Experience, Analytics, Creative, Technology, and Channel Execution) to align priorities, ensure seamless handoffs, and deliver a cohesive experience across touchpoints.
  • Drive governance and approvals by partnering closely with Legal, Regulatory, and Risk/Compliance to secure required reviews while maintaining a fast, disciplined iteration cadence.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • An ideal candidate brings curiosity, strategic-thinking, high standards, and a positive, can-do approach to their work.
  • Comfortable operating in an ever-evolving environment—able to pivot quickly, make thoughtful decisions amid shifting priorities, develop strategic recommendations, and lead teams and cross-functional partners to deliver outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives with strong organizational discipline—tracking dependencies, timelines, approvals, and risks to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery.
  • Strong written, verbal, and storytelling skills, with advanced PowerPoint experience and the ability to distill complex information into clear, compelling narratives for senior business leaders.
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, lifecycle/CRM marketing, customer onboarding, or a related field.

Preferred qualifications, skills, and/or capabilities

  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud (or similar platform), including messaging strategy, journey development concepts, and CRM channel best practices.
  • Experience building and optimizing multi-channel programs (email, direct mail, landing pages, ads, in-app/digital nudges).
  • Track record of iterating and scaling programs through test-and-learn, including translating insights into outcomes.
  • Financial services and/or deposits experience is a plus but not required.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in regulated marketing environments and partner with risk and compliance to secure approvals while maintaining speed and rigor.
  • Degree in marketing, communications, or a related field preferred.
