SUMMARY:
Under limited supervision, the IT Business Analyst III develops the ability to collect, clarify,
analyze, and translate business requirements into documentation and functional
requirements from which solutions are developed. This role serves as a liaison between
business operations and information systems for requirements, design, development,
configuration, testing, implementation, and application support.

JOB DUTIES
- Works with end users to identify and understand business problems and processes and
evaluates potential solutions. - Identifies and analyzes business needs, conducts requirements gathering, and defines
scope and objectives for more complex projects. - Leads the effort to solve problems and produce quality deliverables to support business
needs. - Ensures adequate conceptual and detailed design documentation is prepared through
the process of analysis, modeling, and specification. - Writes documentation describing how a system operates or how to use it, depending on
the different roles in the organization via user manual or wiki for products. - Verifies and validates conceptual and detailed design software requirements that are in
line with documented and implicit business processes. - Identifies and solves problems through root cause analysis. Develops testing plans,
criteria, and scripts. Guides users through the testing process. - Prepares and delivers project and system presentations.
- Acts as the Product Owner within a Scrum / Agile team.
- Analyzes business and technical processes to formulate and develop new and modified
business information processing systems. - Coordinates with business and technology teams ascertaining system requirements,
such as program functions, output requirements, input data acquisition, and execution of
user acceptance, and may coordinate testing. - Identifies and suggests performance improvement changes.
- Mentors less experienced staff members and provides guidance on a regular basis
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Typically requires a bachelor's degree and five (5) or more years of experience or an
equivalent combination.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
- Knowledge of other Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, TDD, FDD, etc.
- Knowledge of Agile tools utilized from story to design task and release, such as Jira,
Pivotal Tracker, CollabNet Team Forge, etc. - Advanced technical aptitude.
- Consultative skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate information
verbally, visually, and in written format across at all levels of the company. - Experience developing and implementing systems using Agile/Scrum methodology.
- Experience utilizing or deploying IT solutions to meet business requirements.
- Ability to coordinate tasks and priorities across multiple projects.
- Strong understanding of business intelligence concepts and applications.
- Ability to effectively capture requirements and facilitate sessions with business
stakeholders. - Project management skills.
- Proven ability to conceptualize, exercise judgment and think creatively.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS: First level Scrum Master Certification (CSM, PSM I),
Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Certification of Capability in Business Analysis (CCBA) or Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP) certification is preferred.
