Dynamics 365 Solution Design Lead

Summary

The Dynamics 365 CE Functional Developer is responsible for the ownership, support, enhancement, and governance of the organization's Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement platform, including Sales and Field Service modules. This role translates business requirements into scalable solutions that align with enterprise architecture standards.

You will maintain platform documentation, support users, identify improvement opportunities, and help ensure system changes are thoughtfully designed and implemented to enhance business processes, support integrations, and preserve reporting accuracy.

What You Do - The Role (Responsibilities)

Business Relationship Management
  • Partner with business leaders and subject matter experts to understand operational requirements and challenges.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions and business process reviews.
  • Provide recommendations on how existing platform capabilities can address business needs.
  • Manage and prioritize enhancement requests and backlog items.

Solution Design & Governance
  • Design scalable solutions within Dynamics 365 CE and related Microsoft technologies.
  • Evaluate impacts of proposed changes on existing processes, integrations, security models, and reporting.
  • Ensure solutions align with organizational standards and long-term roadmap.
  • Participate in architecture and design reviews.

Dynamics 365 CE Development & Configuration
  • Configure and customize Dynamics 365 CE applications, including tables, forms, views, business rules, workflows, and security roles.
  • Develop and support Power Automate flows, model-driven apps, and Dataverse components.
  • Support development of plugins, JavaScript, custom APIs, integrations, and other Dynamics 365 CE extensions as required.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve configuration, customization, integration, and application issues.
    Package, test, and deploy solution changes across development, test, and production environments.

Platform Ownership
  • Act as product owner for Dynamics 365 Sales and Field Service applications.
  • Support ongoing platform enhancements and optimization initiatives.
  • Collaborate with development resources and external partners on solution delivery.
  • Participate in testing, validation, and deployment activities.


Documentation & Knowledge Management
  • Create and maintain business process documentation.
  • Maintain solution design documentation and system architecture diagrams.
  • Develop user guides and training materials.
  • Ensure documentation remains current following enhancements and releases.

User Support & Training
  • Provide advanced application support to end users.
  • Troubleshoot issues and coordinate resolution with internal teams and vendors.
  • Deliver user training and adoption initiatives.
  • Support change management activities for new functionality.


What You Need (Requirements)
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or a combination or skills, certifications, and experience.
  • 5+ years supporting and administering Microsoft Dynamics 365 Field Service and/or Sales in a developer or technical product owner capacity.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Automate, Power Apps, and Dataverse.
  • Experience with integrations such as Dual Write, KingswaySoft or Azure Integration Technologies.
  • Familiarity with Dynamics 365 CE development concepts such as JavaScript, plugins, APIs, integrations, and solution deployments.
  • Strong business analysis and requirements gathering skills.
  • Experience documenting business processes and technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
