The Position:

JOB SUMMARY
  • The Head of Network Operations Engineering will take a strong lead of the function and ensure we have robust scalable architecture for the global network, oversee various engineering disciplines in concert with the Software and Hardware Engineering across Panasonic Avionics. This role requires a strong process capability, system engineering capability, as well as a solid understanding of mechanical, electrical and software technologies, tools and development methodologies. Works with internal and external customers to determine technology roadmaps that supports business objectives, and lead and inspire engineers and cross-functional development teams to develop the associated products, and ensure that the products developed will meet documented requirements. Ensures that engineering development teams adhere to approved company processes, and utilize lean product development methodologies where appropriate as well as will be responsible to build and maintain a high-performing team


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES.Description
  • Lead the architecture development, planning and execution of Software and Hardware Development including research, design, and development of computer software and hardware systems in conjunction with software, hardware engineering and product development.
  • Working with the Program Office, Engineering & Executive Leadership & all stakeholders, ensures strategic implementation, effective management & coordination of teams supporting services, systems and infrastructure for customer interacting technology service products.
  • Evaluate design concepts, architectures and circuits from a performance, scalability and cost are optimized.
  • Works with customer facing account/field/support teams as well as customers when called upon to discuss Panasonic's customer facing technology products operation and daily maintenance.
  • Has overall control of strategic planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities, and recommending and implementing changes to methods.
  • Works with advanced systems engineering, interfaces with senior management & regional executive management in conjunction with stakeholders on customer facing platforms and services required for Panasonic's network operations; defines strategy, resource allocation, planning, implementation & operation techniques for operational functions for product line
  • Acts as a services based product liaison for operational management and support of satellite, ground & application hosting operational products, working with other departments, stakeholder or vendors to manage, resolve & mitigate technical issues
  • Build, lead, empower and inspire a world-class group of employees while overcoming the challenges associated with rapid growth in a competitive market.
  • Maintain levels of high performance technical expertise sufficient to advise troubleshooting procedures for all PAC service based product types.
  • Defines, plans & acquires services, technology, tools and systems required to keep Panasonic's customer facing systems available and serviceable
  • Provided Executive Leadership for critical crisis & incident management teams to manage customer disruptions, restore services and provide root cause analysis/corrective actions/remediation
  • Provides strategy, direction and future state evolution planning to department senior management & executive management for customer facing network operations
  • Ensures budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.
  • Interface with other business units to help establish common tools, workflows, best practices, and standards to promote concurrent engineering.
  • Establish proper interfaces for exchange of data between departments, business units, and vendors.
  • Maintain Responsibility for technical deliverables of the group.
  • Participate in cross functional/customer focused &/or company teams, providing focus on network related service delivery & operations as it relates to ensure service program financial and operational health.
  • Work with Operations and Engineering to determine product end of life strategies and actions.
  • Liaise with the PAC Engineering and GCS groups to ensure that actions are consistent with PAC technical developments and processes.
  • Leadership
  • Act as a mentor and coach for other technical leaders and work to establish a strong bench of future leaders.
  • Recruit, develop, and partner with team members in support of building a pipeline of top talent and team member career goals.
  • Develop, modify and execute company policies that affect immediate operation(s) and may also have company-wide effect.
  • Direct activities through subordinate managers who exercise full supervision in terms of costs, scheduling, and staffing.
  • Select and monitor vendor support for departments to ensure state-of-the-art applications and equipment.

The salary or hourly wage range of $277,000 - $370,000 is just one component of Panasonic's total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to individual's knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives. The minimum hourly wage for this role will be the greater of the posted range, or minimum wage for the location where the employee will be working, subject to local minimum wage requirements.

What We're Looking For:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree or 12 years' experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other related field.
  • At least 12 years working in technology based service/support & global network operations
  • At least 7 years working, operations & supporting 'service as a product' environments
  • 10 years in management/leadership role


KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead cutting-edge teams in a fast, challenging and exciting culture.
  • Proven record of demonstrating strong strategic, business and investment skills.
  • Experience managing a large, multi-disciplinary, multi-geography team responsible for executing NetApp's technology vision and delivering an extensive and world-class systems portfolio, linked with the corporate engineering center.
  • Experience managing the complexities of running a systems organization, ideally in storage or related data- center technologies (e.g., development needs, competitive and market gap analysis, life-cycle management, hardware/software cadence, etc.).
  • A demonstrated ability to collaborate with product development, marketing and sales organizations across a large enterprise.
  • Hardware and software systems experience, ideally in Storage and Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI).
  • Experience in Agile methodologies. Scaled Agile (SAFe) experience is a bonus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and implement department objectives.
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of network operations
  • Proven experience with problem-solving, decision-making, negotiating, and multi-tasking to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers in a professional and timely manner.
  • Ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationship with customers and internal company departments in order to effectively address customer needs.
  • Ability to plan, assign, train, and direct employees.
  • Ability to interview, hire, and appraise employees.
  • Highly developed team building skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
