Summary

The Due Diligence Manager is responsible for overseeing post-close processing, data compare exceptions, and third-party due diligence review (TPR) processes to ensure loan quality, regulatory compliance, and to support loan sale readiness.

This role integrates underwriting expertise and operational leadership to manage pipeline flow, enforce service level agreements (SLAs), and resolve findings, data discrepancies, and investor conditions. The Due Diligence Manager plays a critical role in identifying trends and partnering with internal stakeholders to drive resolution of defects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Monitor and manage pipeline queues to ensure timely movement of post close processing, findings, exceptions, and conditions
  • Manage workload distribution and prioritization across team members
  • Perform second-level review and escalation support for Post Close Processing and Due Diligence impacting loan flow and delivery
  • Oversee and report on due diligence volume, aging, review of findings and corrective action tracking.
  • Monitor and resolve issues that may impact investor delivery or pricing execution
  • Escalate material findings, trends, and defect patterns to leadership
  • Support internal and external audits, regulatory reviews, and investor due diligence requests
  • Prepare and deliver reporting TPR results to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement
  • Manage TPR vendor performance, SLA adherence, and quality standards
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and vendors to drive resolution of defects
  • Oversee reconciliation of TPR data against system of record; coordinate with internal teams to resolve data variances and report discrepancies
  • Ensure adherence to operational SLAs, production goals, and turnaround expectations
  • Responsible for supervision, oversight/development and mentorship of their assigned team members.

Education and/or Experience
  • 5+ years of recent Underwriting experience, quality control, or due diligence
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership or management experience in mortgage operations or compliance
  • Experience with Post Close CD issuance
  • Experience underwriting Non-QM and "Alt-A" paper mortgage loans required
  • Experience managing third-party vendors or audit functions preferred


Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc).
