DescriptionDSHS FTAA Senior Epic Interface AnalystWe are seeking an experienced Senior Epic Interface Analyst to join our team at the Finance, Technology, Analytics, and Accounting Administration (FTAA) and Division of Enterprise Technology (DIT). This is a great opportunity for you to use your Epic Bridge Certification and experience with interface engines like Rhapsody and Corepoint.
In this role you will be responsible for configuring and maintaining Epic application modules, translating clinical and operational workflows into precise system design decisions, and ensuring that the build accurately reflects the needs of the programs it serves. You'll lead testing activities within the assigned functional domain, reviews and approves the work of less senior analysts, facilitates working sessions with clinical and program staff to gather and validate requirements, and serves as the primary point of escalation for complex application issues that require deeper technical judgment. You will also contribute to go-live planning, post-activation monitoring, and the continuous improvement of system configuration as program needs evolve.
Some of what you will do:- Configure and maintain assigned EHR application modules in accordance with approved design decisions
- Translate clinical and operational workflows into precise system build specifications, ensuring configuration accurately reflects program and end-user needs
- Maintain accurate build documentation, including workflow diagrams, configuration guides
- Collaborate in working sessions with clinical, operational, and program staff to elicit, clarify, and validate application requirements
- Analyze current and future-state workflows to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for system-supported improvement
- Present design options and recommendations to stakeholders
- Conduct testing activities within the assigned functional domain, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
- Develop test scripts, scenarios, and acceptance criteria that reflect real-world clinical and operational use cases
- Review and validate test results, ensuring defects are identified, documented, and resolved prior to go-live
- Investigate and resolve application configuration issues, workflow conflicts, and system anomalies escalated from less senior analysts
- Document root causes and resolutions to build institutional knowledge and prevent recurrence
- Contribute to program-level planning for integration milestones, including resource allocation recommendations, trading partner scheduling, and risk identification
Who should apply?A Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
AND
Seven years of progressively responsible experience in Epic application analysis, configuration, and implementation, including at least two years in a lead or senior capacity.
OR
Eleven years of direct experience in Epic application analyst and configuration with e demonstrated leadership of complex build efforts.
Note: This job requires Epic Certification. If the candidate does not have Epic Certification, they will successfully get certified in the modules identified within a 4 month period after hire.
What we're looking for:- Current Epic application certification in one or more modules relevant to this job
- Demonstrated experience leading configuration design or build activities across a full Epic implementation lifecycle, from build through activation
- Demonstrated experience providing technical guidance, work review, or mentoring to other analysts in a project or operational setting
- Comprehensive knowledge of Epic EHR application architecture, configuration methodology, and module interdependencies across multiple functional domains relevant to a large-scale state agency implementation
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare workflows and clinical operations in a publicly funded, multi-program environment, including behavioral health, long-term care, and Medicaid-funded services
- Knowledge of Epic implementation governance frameworks, including configuration change control, build documentation standards, and version management practices
- Skill in mentoring and developing analysts at lower classification levels, including structured work review, guidance on professional growth, and knowledge transfer
- Ability to operate independently and lead technical work within a complex, multi-agency EHR program with minimal day-to-day supervision
