Job Summary
The Senior Designer leads and owns work with limited oversight and presents work confidently internally and to clients. They have a strong understanding of a wide range of design techniques and styles, with deep expertise in motion graphics and moving-image design.
They are equally comfortable developing strong static design systems and bringing them to life through motion—using animation, typography, image, film and emerging technologies to create expressive, cohesive brand experiences across platforms.
Senior Designers contribute to concept development, collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, and provide feedback and guidance to more junior team members.
Job Responsibilities
Be an aesthetic champion and guardian of the clients brand
Formulate concepts with minimal oversight or design direction
Concept, design and execute motion graphics and animation across brand identities, campaigns, social, digital and film
Translate static visual identities and design systems into compelling motion languages and behaviors
Define motion principles, animation systems, transitions, typography and visual storytelling that become an integral part of a brands identity
Work with interdisciplinary team members; and have a voice, contributing and expressing opinions
Understand the difference between creating a campaign versus a long-term ecosystem or brand vision, and execute accordingly
Develop multi-faceted design deliverables, from brand audits and visual identities to motion systems, retail environments to CRM
Collaborate with editors, animators, 3D artists, developers and production partners to take motion work from concept through final execution
Explore emerging tools and technologiesincluding generative and AI-enabled workflowswhere they can elevate the creative output
Manage multiple clients and deliverables simultaneously
Deliver inspiring, provocative, and disruptive results, in short amounts of time, on tasks large and small based on a given brief
Able to mentor junior designers and interns
Able to lead internal team reviews in absence of a Design Director or Group Director
Basic Qualifications
Portfolio or reel demonstrating exceptional design craft, brand-building thinking and sophisticated motion graphics work
Preferred Qualifications
6-8 years of design experience at an agency, design company or related industry
Demonstrative experience in leading workstreams within a larger project
Firm understanding of the differences between brand and campaign design responsibilities and processes
Advanced motion graphics and animation capabilities
Expert proficiency in After Effects
Experience with Cinema 4D, Blender or other 3D/motion tools is desirable
Strong understanding of editing, timing, typography in motion, transitions and visual storytelling
Ability to create both high-level motion concepts and polished final executions
Ability to work independently
Excellent design taste and sensibility
Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign)
Exceptional organizational and planning skills, including exacting attention to detail and follow-through
Ability to multitask, manage simultaneous projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
