This Drilling Logistics Lead I opportunity sits within a demanding drilling support environment, supporting logistics and materials management activities for remote operations and offshore or onshore rig locations.Role ContextThis position is linked to a refinery and chemical complex and focuses on drilling logistics support for international drilling activities. The role requires coordination across supply base operations, warehouse functions, freight movement, and material handling in a technical operating environment.
About the RoleThe Drilling Logistics Lead I is responsible for day-to-day logistical support, helping ensure materials and equipment move efficiently to the required locations. The role supports drilling operations through coordination, supervision, and control of logistics activities.
Key Responsibilities - Assess in country logistical requirements and align with Drill Team on base business service's needs, objectives and requirements.
- Supervise supply base/warehouse operations and maintain a consistent level of logistics and procurement support of international drilling activities.
- Act as the primary contact with custom officials and freight forwarding companies for import/export clearance of materials and equipment.
- Maintain appropriate import/export records and required documentation for internal and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with contract tendering exercises for supply base/warehouse facilities, marine vessels, aviation (fixed and rotary wing), stevedoring, and custom-clearing agents.
- Maintain performance-tracking records of supply base operations and logistics source contracts.
- Ensure that logistics operations are in conformance with all company environmental, health, safety, and security requirements.
- Comply with local in-country regulations, and PSC/JOA (Production Sharing Contract/Joint Operating Agreement) requirements.
- Assure compliance with Delegation of Authority Guide (DOAG), Controls, and Operations Integrity Management System (OIMS) standards and requirements.
- Periodically perform internal assessment to assure compliance with controls.
- Manage and report effectiveness for logistics managed activities.
Required Experience & Qualifications - Experience in supply and logistics, preferably in international frontier operations.
- Experience working in Operations, preferably Drilling support activities and related materials, equipment and services.
- Experienced in starting up new operations in a truly remote frontier region.
- Experience in material handling equipment (cranes, forklifts).
- Must be able to demonstrate sound ethical practices in the supervision of local labor, inventory control, oil field accounting, and contract administration.
- Strong analytical and communication skills; Good interpersonal / team skills.
