Conti LLC - Road & Infrastructure Division
Locations: Florida (Various Project Sites)
Full-Time

Position Overview

Conti LLC's Road & Infrastructure Division is seeking an experienced Drilled Shafts Superintendent to lead drilled shaft and miscellaneous foundation operations on transportation infrastructure projects throughout Florida. This position requires a strong background in FDOT projects, deep foundation construction, and field leadership. The successful candidate will oversee daily operations, maintain production and quality standards, coordinate project resources, and ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with FDOT specifications and project requirements.

This role requires travel to various project locations throughout Florida.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Compliance
  • Lead and promote a strong safety culture on all project sites.
  • Ensure the overall jobsite is safe for employees, subcontractors, and visitors.
  • Enforce company safety policies, site-specific safety plans, and established project rules.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and project safety regulations.

Project Execution & Field Operations
  • Plan, organize, implement, execute, and control daily construction activities with assigned crews.
  • Direct and supervise drilled shaft and miscellaneous foundation operations.
  • Monitor production performance and workmanship quality, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Review construction contract documents, plans, and specifications to ensure constructability and accuracy.
  • Coordinate daily activities to meet project schedules and production goals.

FDOT Foundation Construction
  • Manage construction activities involving FDOT miscellaneous foundations, including:
    • Sign Structure Foundations
    • Mast Arm Foundations
    • High Mast Light Foundations
    • Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Pole Foundations
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with applicable FDOT specifications and project requirements.

Resource & Material Coordination
  • Work closely with management to ensure timely availability of:
    • Access and traffic control requirements
    • Utility locates
    • Concrete
    • Slurry materials
    • Water supply
    • Equipment
    • Construction materials
  • Coordinate steel cage fabrication, delivery, and installation activities.
  • Schedule and coordinate concrete deliveries to support production requirements.
  • Order, track, and release project materials as necessary.

Equipment Management
  • Maintain assigned foundation drilling tools and specialty equipment.
  • Monitor equipment utilization and coordinate maintenance needs to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure equipment is properly operated, inspected, and maintained.

Client & Agency Relations
  • Work directly with FDOT representatives, inspectors, and other agencies to ensure successful project execution.
  • Participate in project meetings and maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Resolve field issues while maintaining schedule, quality, and budget objectives.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum experience performing and supervising work on FDOT transportation projects.
  • Strong knowledge of FDOT miscellaneous foundation construction.
  • Thorough understanding of FDOT Specification Section 346 (Portland Cement Concrete).
  • Thorough understanding of FDOT Specification Section 455 (Miscellaneous Structures).
  • Demonstrated experience leading construction crews and managing daily field operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel throughout Florida as project assignments require.

Equipment Experience Required

Candidates must be capable of safely operating equipment required to perform the scope of work, including:
  • Backhoe
  • Mini Excavator
  • Boom Truck
  • Auger Truck
  • Vacuum Truck
  • Other foundation and support equipment as required

Licensing Requirements
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A) required.
  • Clean driving record preferred.
