DIVISIONAL MERCHANDISE MANAGER - WORK APPAREL AND WORK BOOTSREPORTS TO: GENERAL MERCHANDISE MANAGER

SummaryThe DMM is responsible for leading the buying teams across work footwear, work apparel and work accessories. The DMM will identify long-range opportunities to grow sales and margin in our workwear business, manage execution with our vendors and internal brands teams and develop the next generation of Boot Barn buying talent.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Responsible for leading and managing the work buying team while setting the mid and long-term strategies to protect and grow our leadership in work footwear and apparel.
- Develop product and assortment strategies to achieve financial targets, manage execution across the teams, driving accountability at every level.
- Manage key vendor relationships especially at a leadership level across all workwear third-party brands.
- Set product strategies for our exclusive brands. Instrumental in developing customer targets, guiding assortment breadth vs depth and determining price architecture. Partner with design and sourcing in regular meetings from sketch through to final sample.
- Develop and train Work Buying team, including Senior Buyers, Associate Buyers and Assistants.
- Key leader and partner in growing our B2B Work Force business - managing the Work Force merch coordinator, guiding additional assortments for our B2B business and ensuring the profitability of those items.
- Drive pricing, promotional tactics and markdowns for the department.
- Lead style level sales analysis to identify trends, best sellers and develop future-facing strategies for Exclusive Brand development and third party buys.
- Partner with leaders of Planning and Allocation to develop open-to-buy, buy quantities and model stock direction for the team.
- Partner with the leaders in marketing to craft messaging for product categories and brands, partner on co-op marketing and drive sales.
- Partner with regional store managers and e-comm managers to ensure proper product placement and pricing.

Qualifications - Bachelor's degree with 12+ years retail buying experience in either a specialty store or department store.
- Excellent knowledge of Excel, Word and Power Point.
- Strong communication skills, providing direction to private label design and product development team and branded partners.
- Ability to work as a team member, multitask and give clear direction. Builds rapport and relationships both internally and externally with Store Operations, Visuals, Marketing, Design, Private Brand, Vendors.
- Thorough knowledge of retail math. Sales, gross margin, OTB calculations, initial mark-up, turn, etc.
- Effective oral presentations with well-prepared content and confident delivery.
- Strong negotiation skills.

PAY RANGE: $180,000.00 - $225,000.00/yr*
*compensation varies based on geography, skills, experience, and tenure
