Job Description:

Position Summary:

The Divisional Quality Manager is a leadership role providing direction to Shakeproof’s quality team. The manager overseas the entire quality process including customer satisfaction, problem solving, and continuous improvements to our Quality Management System. This individual serves as a voice of our customer while partnering with our operations team to improve Cost of Poor Quality metrics.

This role will be located at our Elgin facility, but will require frequently travel to other Shakeproof locations and infrequent travel to customer locations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manages, trains, and develops the Quality and Operations department staffs to support the QMS.

  • Leads the development, revision, training, and implementation of the division’s Quality Management System.

  • Ensures capable processes are in place to address customer claims and production quality issues; ensure corrective actions are properly communicated to customers (in partnership with quality engineers, customer service, and sales organization).

  • Partners with the division management team and works cross-functionally to drive quality and process improvement initiatives.

  • Oversees sustained product quality, product and process consistency, continuous improvement, and governance across the division.

  • Serves as Management Representative and leads efforts to achieve and maintain IATF, ISO, and other specific business/industry standard certifications.

  • Assists in development and maintenance of appropriate analytical testing instrumentation and processes in QC laboratories.

  • Any and all additional (reasonable and appropriate) duties, as assigned.

  • A Bachelor’s Degree Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering, or any discipline related directly to Manufacturing Operations or Quality Systems.

  • 10+ years experience in implementing, validating, and auditing processes and procedures; resolving issues and reporting to regulatory agencies and other governing bodies; and specifying, conducting, and troubleshooting analytical testing procedures.

  • 5+ years work experience at a management level with primary responsibilities for implementing and maintaining quality management systems in a manufacturing environment, including experience in achieving and maintaining IATF 16949 or ISO 9001 certification.

  • 5+ years experience in the automotive industry is preferable.

Other Qualifications:

  • Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Must be detailed oriented to prevent transmission of false data to regulatory agencies and certifying bodies.

Compensation Information:

  • Annual salary for this position ranges from $130,000 - $150,000
