This position is at the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) in the Asset Management and Assistance Center. This position serves as a Division of Asset Recovery (DAR) Analyst.
DutiesAt the CU-13 grade level, you will serve in a developmental capacity performing the duties described below under closer than normal supervision. Assignments will become progressively more difficult until the full-performance level (CU-14) is reached.
As a DAR Analyst at the CU-14 level, you will:
- Lead and provide authoritative guidance to support teams in carrying out a full range of real estate related activities, including real estate loan origination (both residential and commercial), leasing residential and commercial real estate, collections (both real estate and consumer), monitoring restitution agreements and civil judgments, loan administration, escrow analysis, loan amortization, account servicing, account researching, and recasting loans as needed.
- Negotiate leases ranging from basic residential to long-term commercial leases.
- Lead teams of staff and contractors in residential and commercial loan origination, leasing, foreclosure and sale of residential and commercial real estate, real estate and commercial loan collections, and loan administration.
- Performing valuations of loan and asset portfolios to determine the least cost alternative.
- Develop models using relevant industry trends, qualitative factors and/or statistical data to value large complex loan portfolios.
- Manage asset portfolios to maximize total overall returns and minimize servicing expenses.
- Provide consultation regarding loss mitigation and workout strategies.
- Develop work out plans for complex commercial and real estate assets.
- Evaluate loan portfolios for compliance with applicable laws, regulations and loan documentation requirements.

To qualify at the CU-13 level, you must have one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the CU/GS-12 level in federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors).
For the CU-13 level, specialized experience is defined as experience in all of the following areas:
- Reviewing and analyzing loan portfolios; and
- Examining, originating, reviewing assets held by financial institutions; and
- Performing project management responsibilities which include establishing program goals, scope, budget and/or assignments; and
- Analyzing financial data to recommend corrective procedures.
To qualify at the CU-14 level, you must have one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the CU/GS-13 level in federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors).
For the CU-14 level, specialized experience is defined as experience in all of the following areas:
- Reviewing and analyzing loan portfolios, and
- Examining, originating, reviewing assets held by financial institutions; and
- Performing project management responsibilities which include establishing program goals, scope, budget and/or assignments; and
- Analyzing financial data to recommend corrective procedures; and
- Monitoring and/or managing real estate portfolios (for example: leasing, taxes, insurance coverage, foreclosures, titling, etc.).

SALARY: Pay will be set within the advertised pay range to align with the selectee's skills and experience and the requirements of the position in accordance with NCUA's compensation policy.
