Full Job Description
Position Summary

The Division Manager - Final Mile Operations is responsible for the overall operational, financial, compliance, and client performance of multiple final-mile delivery locations. This role provides direct leadership to site management teams and serves as the primary point of accountability for ensuring each operation meets established service, safety, compliance, capacity, and financial expectations.

The Division Manager is expected to operate with a high level of independence and ownership-proactively identifying risks, developing solutions, and driving execution without requiring senior leadership to identify issues or establish corrective action plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Performance & KPIs: Own performance across assigned locations, including service KPIs, route execution, delivery quality, productivity, capacity, customer experience, and other contractual requirements. Analyze trends, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions before issues escalate.
  • Client Management: Develop strong relationships with client leadership, lead recurring business reviews, respond to concerns and escalations, and ensure commitments are completed timely. Maintain proactive communication and provide clear recovery plans when performance falls below expectations.
  • Contractor Capacity & Recruiting: Maintain an accurate contractor recruiting and capacity pipeline for each location. Forecast future capacity needs based on volume and business requirements, partner with Procurement on onboarding, and ensure adequate qualified delivery teams are available before capacity becomes an operational risk.
  • Compliance: Maintain a comprehensive compliance process across all assigned locations. Ensure contractors and service workers meet applicable requirements, including background checks, drug screens, MVRs, licensing, insurance/COIs, and other required documentation. Track expiration dates, follow outstanding items through completion, and ensure compliance issues are addressed proactively.
  • People Leadership & Development: Lead, coach, and hold site leaders accountable for performance. Establish clear expectations, conduct regular performance discussions, develop leadership capability, address performance concerns timely, and build succession plans for critical positions.
  • Financial & Billing Management: Maintain ownership and understanding of site P&Ls, labor and contractor costs, billing accuracy, invoice reconciliation, short pays/rejections, expenses, and other financial drivers. Identify opportunities to improve profitability while maintaining service expectations.
  • Reporting & Business Visibility: Ensure operational reports, KPI scorecards, recruiting trackers, compliance records, financial reporting, and action plans are accurate, complete, current, and provide leadership with appropriate visibility into business performance and risk.
  • Safety & Risk Management: Promote a strong safety culture and ensure safety incidents, property damage, claims, and operational risks are appropriately investigated, documented, escalated, and addressed.
  • Administrative & Leadership Approvals: Maintain timely oversight of employee timecards, PTO requests, expense reports, Workday actions, staffing requests, performance documentation, and other Division Manager-level approvals.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs, increase productivity, strengthen compliance, and improve the customer and delivery-team experience. Develop solutions that can be standardized across multiple locations when appropriate.
