Position Summary
The Division Chief of Orthopedics will serve as the clinical and surgical leader for Tryon Medical Partners' orthopedic service line, with a focused mandate to grow and differentiate joint replacement and reconstruction services. This role will drive the development of a high-performing, outpatient-focused orthopedic program rooted in surgical excellence, value-based care, and coordinated, multispecialty integration.
Working within a strong primary care and specialty network, the Division Chief will lead the evolution of a market-leading musculoskeletal platform centered on optimized outcomes, total cost of care, and an exceptional patient experience.

Clinical & Surgical Leadership
  • Establish Clinical Vision: Define and execute a forward-looking orthopedic strategy centered on joint replacement, outpatient surgical advancement, and standardized perioperative care pathways.
  • Advance Surgical Innovation: Lead the adoption of same-day joint replacement and enhanced recovery protocols to ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes.


Growth, Joint Strategy & Outpatient Surgery
  • Lead ASC Strategy: Oversee the design, growth, and clinical performance of outpatient joint replacement programs, including ASC development and optimization.
  • Optimize Site-of-Care: Implement standardized patient selection criteria to safely transition appropriate procedures to outpatient settings-enhancing efficiency, reducing cost, and improving recovery.


Musculoskeletal Center of Excellence Leadership
  • Develop COE Strategy: Build and scale an integrated Musculoskeletal Center of Excellence positioning Tryon as a regional destination for comprehensive MSK care.
  • Align Clinical Teams: Collaborate with surgeons and clinical partners to standardize care pathways and drive programmatic growth.
  • Enhance Access: Improve referral pathways and patient access across the MSK continuum to expand reach and streamline care delivery.


Coordinated Care & Multispecialty Integration
  • Drive Cross-Specialty Collaboration: Partner across primary care, family medicine, sports medicine, spine, and rheumatology to deliver seamless, coordinated musculoskeletal care.
  • Integrate Services: Align surgical services with imaging and ancillary offerings to create a cohesive, patient-centered experience.
  • Standardize Rehabilitation: Implement evidence-based physical therapy protocols to optimize both pre-operative preparation and post-operative recovery.


Clinical Quality & Physician Leadership
  • Deliver Outcomes Excellence: Monitor and enhance key quality metrics, including complication rates, infections, and recovery timelines.
  • Promote Collaborative Culture: Lead peer review and data-driven quality initiatives to foster transparency and continuous improvement.
  • Recruit & Mentor Talent: Attract, develop, and align high-performing orthopedic surgeons to support long-term program growth.
