District Sales Manager

Hillman is seeking a District Sales Manager to lead a team of Territory Managers (TMs), execute strategic sales initiatives, and help shape the future success of our business.

In this highly visible leadership role, you'll have the opportunity to coach and mentor a talented sales team, influence key customer partnerships, identify growth opportunities, and make a direct impact on sales performance across your district.

What You'll Do

Lead and Develop a High-Performing Sales Team
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and support to Territory Managers across your district.
  • Train and develop team members in:
    • Sales and presentation techniques
    • Time management and organization
    • Product and program knowledge
    • Merchandising and planogram execution
    • Technology and reporting tools
    • Customer relationship management
  • Conduct regular sales meetings, training sessions, mentoring, and coaching activities.
  • Recruit, interview, and onboard new team members.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and results-driven team culture.

Drive Sales Growth and Execution
  • Forecast sales and develop strategies to expand market share and accelerate growth.
  • Identify new business opportunities and market trends.
  • Monitor team performance against sales goals and key metrics.
  • Adjust resources and priorities to maximize sales and profitability.
  • Complete required reporting and communicate business updates to leadership.

Manage Key Customer Relationships
  • Maintain and grow assigned Co-op and VIP customer accounts.
  • Conduct line reviews, program evaluations, and business planning sessions.
  • Partner with customers to identify opportunities and strengthen long-term relationships.
  • Communicate customer insights and business updates to sales leadership.

Champion Accountability and Excellence
  • Hold team members accountable for achieving sales objectives and call frequency requirements.
  • Conduct performance reviews, coaching conversations, and development planning.
  • Monitor field activity and provide ongoing support and guidance.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and operational standards.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of successful experience as a Territory Manager.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, motivate, and develop remote sales teams.
  • Strong understanding of sales strategy, forecasting, budgeting, merchandising systems, and marketing concepts.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational, planning, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Windows operating systems.
  • Valid driver's license.

Travel & Physical Requirements
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time.
  • Frequent travel throughout the district, including daily driving.
  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical merchandising-related activities as needed.
