Full Job Description
The District Sales Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining customer relationships, identifying and researching customer needs, and effectively promoting and applying RBC Bearings' products and services. This role requires proactive sales engagement, technical expertise, and the ability to deliver solutions that meet customer requirements while driving business growth.

JOB TITLE/LOCATION:

District Sales Engineer - Northern Indian and Western Michigan

KEY RESPONSIBILILTIES:
  • Developing statistical reports.
  • Determining market strategies & goals for each product and service.
  • Obtain & coordinate data & information from staff & member groups.
  • Research and develop lists of potential customers.
  • Perform market research to determine customer needs & providing information to other staff.
  • Evaluate product & service marketability in terms of customers' technical & manufacturing needs.
  • Follow up on sales leads and making calls on potential customers which includes at least (50%) of your time on the road visiting customers.
  • Maintain up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments that effect target markets.
  • Establish and maintain industry contacts that lead to sales.
  • Work directly with customers to establish a communication path with the customer.
  • Developing sales and marketing proposals for customers on technical products & services.
  • Develop technical presentations & workshops.
  • Maintain up-to-date awareness of activities, industry trends & government regulations.
  • Make regular sales calls to develop relationships and follow up on leads.
  • Establishing long-term, ongoing repeat relationships.
  • Close deals & finalize contacts.
  • Maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of newly developing technologies and manufacturing practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Distribution, Engineering, or Business
  • Strong mechanical aptitude


EXPERIENCE:
  • 3-5 years of experience on both DST and End User/OEM accounts.
  • Industrial background preferably in Power Transmission.
  • Proficient with MS Word and Excel.
  • Presentation skills.
  • Able to track rapidly changing competition & market forces.
  • Capable of meeting established sales goals and quotas.
  • Decision Making skills.
  • Able to develop strategies that result in revenues and organizational success.
  • Available to travel for business purposes.
