FlexTek is partnering with a leading environmental services organization to identify an experienced
District Manager to lead a large, complex operation in the Miami, Florida market. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for an operational leader who thrives in fast-paced, route-based environments and knows how to build strong teams, improve retention, and drive operational performance.
The District Manager will oversee an operation that includes multiple service lines and requires a leader who can effectively manage through other leaders while maintaining a strong understanding of day-to-day field operations.
Full relocation package is offered for out of area candidates.Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall performance of a large, multi-line, route-based operation.
- Provide leadership and direction to a team of functional and operational leaders.
- Build a stable, accountable, and engaged leadership team while improving employee retention.
- Develop a strong understanding of routes, customers, equipment, staffing, safety, and operational challenges.
- Establish clear expectations and accountability across the organization.
- Partner closely with sales, fleet, safety, finance, and route strategy teams to support overall district performance.
- Build credibility with employees by being visible, approachable, and engaged in the operation.
- Evaluate opportunities for operational improvement while balancing immediate needs with long-term objectives.
- Collaborate with nearby operations to effectively utilize shared resources and support.
- Lead with energy and influence while clearly connecting day-to-day decisions to broader organizational goals.
What We're Looking For
- Proven district leadership experience within waste management, environmental services, route-based operations, or a similarly complex operational environment.
- Experience leading a sizable collection or field operation with significant route volume and multiple direct reports.
- Demonstrated career stability and progressive leadership responsibility.
- Ability to effectively lead managers and develop strong leadership teams.
- Track record of building employee engagement, accountability, and retention.
- Energetic, influential leadership style with the ability to establish credibility across all levels of an organization.
- Strong operational judgment with the discipline to understand an organization before implementing significant changes.
- Ability to balance strategic leadership with a strong understanding of field-level operations.
- Bilingual Spanish is a significant plus but is not required.
