Location: Richmond, VA

Summary:

The District General Manager is responsible for the overall health of the branch operating units to encompass the Richmond district. This role requires a team builder who can blend different distinct cultures into one cohesive organization, fostering collaboration, trust, and alignment across teams. The successful candidate must also can grasp and lead across multiple streams of business, effectively connecting sales, operations, and administrative priorities into one unified strategy.

Through solid leadership of people and delivery of excellent customer service, the District General Manager is accountable for meeting or exceeding plan for their district by delivering on the financial objectives of the organization and owning all aspects of talent management.

What you'll do:

Sales & Market Growth

  • Drive profitable sales growth across all branches.
  • Manage daily sales performance through trainers and sales leaders; directly manage sales in smaller branches as needed.
  • Ensure consistent execution of all sales strategies and initiatives.
  • Grow the customer base year over year while maintaining strong service for existing clients.
  • Participate in key customer engagements and serve as the escalation point for complex issues.


Community & Market Engagement

  • Engage in community outreach and relationship-building to enhance brand presence.
  • Serve as the market expert, staying informed on competitor activity, community trends, and acquisition opportunities.


Financial & Operational Leadership

  • Manage district financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and revenue collection.
  • Develop, monitor, and manage annual budgets to ensure profitable operations.
  • Maintain acceptable levels of account attrition and accounts receivable.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to establish and achieve operational and financial goals.


Branch & Team Management

  • Lead and support branch management teams in daily operations.
  • Oversee sales, operations, and administrative units across all locations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and implement new procedures as needed.
  • Participate in the development of new project proposals and company-wide initiatives.


Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as the liaison for Enterprise and Shared Services resources, products, and services.
  • Partner with Shared Services to ensure a seamless and positive customer experience.
  • Communicate system/process improvements and escalate suggestions to the RVP for evaluation.


Talent Development & Culture

  • Hire and promote talent to meet or exceed business goals.
  • Develop team members through coaching, performance feedback, and technician training engagement.
  • Foster a healthy, inclusive work environment that reflects the company's purpose, mission, and values.
  • Retain high-performing talent and recognize team contributions.
  • Engage in strong performance management practices, including goal setting, career conversations, ongoing feedback, and year-end assessments.
