Full Job Description
Neogen is looking for a Distribution Manager in our Inventory Control area that would be responsible for managing all inventory related functions of Neogen's Animal Safety Distribution center.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Warehouse Management (personally or through subordinate personnel):
  • Insure a safe working environment for employees;
  • Track direct labor expenses;
  • Manage receiving functions to ensure timely product receipts and replenishment;
  • Manage processing of product returns from customers;
  • Write and maintain procedures, work instructions and forms related to receiving and reverse logistics;
  • Manage inventories, product transfers and cycle counts;
  • Tracks product scrap and manages destruction;
  • Investigate customer complaints related to areas of responsibility;
  • Implement programs to minimize receiving, transferring and replenishment errors.
  • Maintain locations and planogram of product in warehouse;
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance schedule with facilities team;
  • Participate with corporate procurement on pricing with freight carriers; and,
  • Oversee housekeeping requirements for the warehouse;
  • Manage receipt of products into inventory;
  • Coordinate release of products from quarantine with QA;
  • Oversee quality assurance function for buy-sell items and those produced under contract manufacturing arrangement;
  • Create and maintain online system for dock appointments and deliveries;
  • Create KPI's for departments and work with subordinates to promote a culture of continual improvement


MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Recruit, hire, train, coach and retain staffing.
  • Expect. Inspect and Take remedial action when needed.
  • Conduct performance appraisals, address complaints and resolve problems.
  • Carry on responsibilities in accordance with the company's policies and applicable state and local laws.
  • Participate in divisional safety committee.


ADMINISTRATIVE/REPORTING:
  • Participate in department, staff and monthly management meetings.
  • Business planning and annual budgeting.
  • Misc. reports & projects as directed by management


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Ten years plus related professional experience and a clear understanding of distribution management.
  • Microsoft Excel experience
  • Ability to interface successfully with management and subordinates.
  • Strong capability to work independently and as a team member.
