Full Job Description
Position Summary
This is a transformative leadership opportunity to take complete operational ownership of a prominent distribution center currently navigating a strategic recovery and scaling phase. As the Director, you will step into a permanent, full-time role poised for massive expansion, with plans to scale the workforce from 150 to approximately 300 employees over the next two years. This position is designed for a builder who wants to move away from daily production work and focus on creating sustainable systems, instilling foundational process discipline, and developing next-generation leaders. You will have the unique challenge of stabilizing a critical facility while paving a direct career path toward future senior executive leadership opportunities within the organization.

The Location
The position is fully onsite and located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Situated within a critical northeastern logistics corridor, this vibrant and growing region offers an exceptional quality of life and is highly accessible from many desirable surrounding suburbs. The facility provides an ideal hub for a leader rooted in the local area who understands regional market dynamics, with travel expected at about 10% as needed.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all day-to-day distribution center operations to achieve service, productivity, inventory, safety, and financial objectives.
  • Establish and maintain a strong operating rhythm, performance management process, and culture of accountability.
  • Develop, coach, and mentor a multi-level leadership team, including Senior Operations Managers, Operations Managers, and Supervisors.
  • Drive KPI performance through data-driven decision making, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Own facility-level financial performance, budgeting, labor planning, and cost management.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Quality, HR, Finance, Transportation, Inventory Control, and Customer-facing teams.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support customer satisfaction by ensuring operational execution meets service expectations and commitments.
  • Build succession plans and develop future leaders within the operation.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of senior operational leadership experience within distribution, e-commerce fulfillment, 3PL, logistics, or supply chain operations.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities.
  • Experience leading operational improvement, stabilization, or transformation initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success managing operational KPIs, productivity, inventory, labor, and service performance.
  • Strong financial and business acumen, including budget and P&L responsibility.
  • Experience operating in fast-paced, high-volume environments with measurable performance objectives.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to customer-facing operations and service-level performance environments.

The ideal candidate for this role is a visionary strategist who thrives on turning operational challenges into seamless, structured successes. You are someone who balances high emotional intelligence with a firm commitment to accountability, possessing the unique ability to inspire a diverse workforce while instilling rigorous process discipline. Rather than managing by firefighting, you look at the big picture, focus on sustainable growth, and passionately invest in coaching the next tier of leadership to ensure long-term stability and excellence.

Flexibility & Work-Life Integration

Work Structure: Fully Onsite Schedule: Full-time executive schedule with flexibility required to support multi-shift operations Environment: Dynamic, fast-paced distribution and logistics center environment

Why Join the Team?

Beyond the chance to drive a complete business transformation, this organization offers an incredible opportunity to participate directly in the financial success of the business through a lucrative Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) and a comprehensive 401k structure. The deep commitment to employee co-owners is reflected in an extensive benefits package including comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, tuition assistance, gym reimbursements, and an employee purchase program. By joining the team, you will enter a supportive, collaborative environment that avoids short-term fixes, choosing instead to reward dedicated leaders who deliver lasting operational excellence.
