Job Description

The Distribution Analyst is responsible for leading and coordinating the successful delivery of business and technology initiatives that support critical operational applications across distribution operations. This role provides leadership and support for a variety of critical business applications across several organizations within distribution operations. The position requires a strong commitment to safety, effective communication skills, and limited travel. The ideal candidate is a highly technical, analytical problem-solver with advanced geospatial knowledge that can support multiple systems, applications, and end users. This role requires a self-starter with the ability to understand the goals of our programs and provide technology solutions to advance those efforts. The Distribution Analyst is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and technical support while collaborating with vendors and internal teams on new applications and enhancements to existing systems. This role plays a key part in ensuring engineering and distribution teams have the tools required to maintain grid reliability and asset data integrity. The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of GIS systems, Fulcrum, Feature Manipulation Engine (FME), Python, Arcade, JavaScript, Unifier, Power BI, Large Database Management and be capable of providing exceptional support and guidance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for Fulcrum, GIS, FME, Unifier, Power BI and other operational applications, ensuring seamless availability.
  • Serve as a point of coordination for team members within the same group, providing guidance, direction, and support in a matrixed or non-direct reporting environment.
  • Assist with change management efforts, including user adoption, communication, and training coordination
  • Develop and deliver training sessions and documentation to improve end-user proficiency with different groups across Distribution.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for multiple distribution technology platforms, providing guidance and support to end users and leadership.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and system updates, ensuring the team remains informed and appropriately trained.
  • Lead end-to-end project management activities for application and tool implementations, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including TO, data analytics, business stakeholders, and vendors, to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Facilitate meetings, provide project updates, and ensure clear communication across all levels of the organization.
  • Support the implementation and enhancement of business applications (e.g., asset management, GIS, and operational tools).
  • Manage project scope, identify risks/issues, and drive resolution in a timely manner.
  • Ensure proper documentation, knowledge transfer, and transition to support teams following project completion


Qualifications
  • Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to diagnose, communicate and resolve complex technical issues across multiple applications and implement channels integrations with different platforms.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and working with external vendors
  • Ability to track progress, manage risks, and drive projects to completion
  • Experience creating project documentation, status reporting, and presentations for diverse audiences
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project tracking tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Primavera, Unifier or similar)
  • Database Management: Experience with GIS data management using an SDE (ArcGIS Software) and/or working with an RDBMS (Relational Database Management System).
  • Specialized GIS Tools: Experience working with the ArcGIS Utility Network, FME Desktop/Server, or other open-source GIS software.
  • Development & Programming: Programming knowledge or practical work experience in languages such as Python, JavaScript, SQL, or C#.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience supporting applications in the energy or utility sector, particularly within distribution operations.
  • Understanding of cloud and on-premises solutions, related security challenges, and differences between Agile and Waterfall development methodologies.
  • Experience with process optimization and driving efficiency through technology solutions.
