Full Job Description
We are seeking a Distinguished Product Designer to lead experience strategy for the Workiva Platform. Reporting to the Head of Design, this role shapes the long-term vision for the platform at the highest level of design leadership, with a focus on AI experiences, systems thinking, and workflow transformation.

Sitting at the intersection of UX, product strategy, and platform architecture, this leader will influence not only how our products look and feel, but how they are built, scaled, and evolve over time. They will reimagine how users work across the platform by identifying opportunities to simplify complexity, rethink legacy workflows, and design human-in-the-loop moments that combine human judgment with AI-driven efficiency and intelligence.

What You'll Do
  • Lead platform UX strategy: Define and drive the long-term user experience vision across the Workiva Platform, aligning design direction with product strategy, platform architecture, and business goals.
  • Shape AI experiences: Lead the charge in envisioning AI-powered experiences, including generative interfaces, intelligent automation, recommendations, and decision-support workflows.
  • Reimagine workflows: Rethink and redesign existing workflows to create simpler, faster, and more intuitive experiences across complex enterprise use cases.
  • Design human-in-the-loop moments: Determine where human oversight, review, escalation, and decision-making should remain central in AI-enabled workflows, and design those interaction points with clarity and trust.
  • Solve complex system challenges: Lead discovery across ambiguous, cross-functional problems by combining research, product insight, data, and technical constraints into scalable solutions.
  • Drive experience architecture: Establish reusable patterns, interaction models, and information architecture that scale across a multi-product ecosystem.
  • Influence technical direction: Partner closely with Product and Engineering leadership to shape platform direction, service design, data flows, and implementation choices that affect user experience.
  • Advance design systems and governance: Guide the evolution of design systems to support consistency, flexibility, and innovation at scale.
  • Mentor senior talent: Coach Principal and Senior Designers, raise craft standards, and strengthen design culture across the organization.

What You'll Need

  • Experience establishing UX best practices for emerging technologies or ambiguous problem spaces.

  • Deep expertise in user-centered design methodologies applied to enterprise workflows.
  • Experience designing AI-powered product experiences and human-in-the-loop workflows.
  • Experience leveraging AI within the design process for discovery, prototyping, and synthesis.
  • Strong technical fluency across platform ecosystems, APIs, and design systems.
  • Experience working in large-scale Agile environments.
