Location: Open to candidates in Zinpro's global footprint with the ability to work remotely. This is a home-based role requiring approximately 50% travel. Occasional international travel will be required for internal and external meetings, conferences, and other business-related activities. Travel frequency may vary based on the location of the home office.

The base salary listed is a range. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others). In addition to the base salary, this position is eligible for a bonus, providing the opportunity to earn additional compensation.

Position Summary

The Discovery Researcher - Ruminant supports the development of new products, tools and services for ruminant nutrition through applied research, technical service and opportunity identification. This position oversees internal and external research projects, contributes to the improvement of current products, develops supporting technical and research documentation, advances digital tools for data management and reporting, and provides global support to ruminant technical sales teams and account managers in alignment with Research and Discovery goals.

Essential Functions
  • Create new products, tools and services through exploration and identification of opportunities.
  • Support current lines of research under the supervision of the R & D Ruminant manager.
  • Provide technical service support to ruminant technical sales teams and account managers globally.
  • Support the development of technical marketing content and research summaries.
  • Advance digital tools for data management, analysis and reporting.
  • Organize, follow up and develop research projects with external entities. Creates a collaboration network with universities and other research entities.
  • Support the development of Zinpro's innovation laboratory centers.
  • Contribute to global initiatives and provide support across regions as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Required:
  • Ph.D. degree with focus on nutrition and a minimum of 5 years' experience in the development of novel chemical compounds for use in animals.
  • Understands scientific inference and can apply major statistical procedures using SAS, R or similar tools.
  • Has a strong understanding of ruminant physiology and the practical application of field nutrition. Is knowledgeable on the major diet formulation systems.
  • Is comfortable using different farm management software.
  • Is interested in bridging basic knowledge to practice and effectively communicates to general as well as scientific audiences.
  • Is able to work independently and under supervision.
  • Thrives in a team-oriented work environment.
  • Has experience in international travel

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

The work environment is that characteristic of Research and Development groups. Schedule Requirements

This position is scheduled during regular business hours. The role could include working in different time zones with internal and external customers.

This position requires travel associated with research and technical support functions. This requirement might not exceed 50% of working days.
