Job Description

The Warranty Finance Director position is critical for driving warranty accounting, budgeting and forecasting, as well as working with our partners across the business including quality, Ford Customer Service Division (FCSD), and Supply Chain to provide financial guidance and drive warranty cost improvements. In this role you will lead the warranty profit analysis, warranty coverages, and warranty Re-aquired Vehicle finance organizations. You will have the opportunity and autonomy to respond quickly to areas of warranty that require further attention and/or a fresh perspective to drive improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with operating teams to develop aspirational targets to achieve best-in-class quality levels, and identify physicals-based roadmap actions to deliver over the Plan period


  • Act as a trusted advisor, translating complex technical warranty accounting concepts into clear, impactful insights for audiences with varying levels of warranty accounting knowledge


  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the progress, and apply problem-solving approach when metrics off-track to identify recovery actions to ensure delivery of warranty financials


  • Develop annual business plans and budgets, and monthly forecasts ensuring operational alignment and buy-in to warranty projections and forecasts, while driving operational warranty cost improvements


  • Manage monthly and quarterly warranty close processes, external quarterly earnings messaging, and quarterly external benchmarking analysis


  • Ensure adherence to warranty Rules of the Road, accounting guidelines and internal controls governing warranty reserves and expenses


  • Cultivate strong, collaborative relationships with senior leaders in our quality organization, FCSD, finance teams, global data and analytics, and other business units


  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing, highly engaged team of warranty finance professionals, fostering a culture of business partnering, strong controls, continuous improvement, and agility


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.


  • 10 years of progressive experience in finance, consulting, or operations, with strong analytical skills and business acumen.


  • 5 years of experience leading and developing high-performing teams.


  • Prior experience in Quality/Warranty (External)


  • Demonstrated problem solving skills


  • Familiarity with digital finance technologies, including AI, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), advanced analytics, and modern ERP systems


  • Proven experience working closely with executive leadership, demonstrating exceptional executive-level stakeholder management and influencing skills.


  • Superior presentation, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information and make compelling recommendations to all levels of the organization.

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent advanced degree.


  • Understanding of financial regulatory compliance standards pertaining to warranty such as SOX, IFRS, and GAAP.
