Director, Transportation Operations Integration
AECOM Mississauga is hiring a Director, Transportation Operations Integration.
This is a newly created role.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Responsible for both the technical practice and operational management of one large or multiple small to medium-sized offices, operating units, programs, or projects of moderate to high complexity.
• Provides leadership in the integration of transportation operations, capital delivery, safety, risk management, governance, and organizational readiness across complex infrastructure programs.
• Develops and implements strategies to align operational, project, and business objectives while supporting successful program delivery and long-term operational outcomes.
• Establishes governance frameworks, performance measures, accountability mechanisms, and reporting structures to support executive decision-making and organizational performance.
• Leads multidisciplinary teams in the development and implementation of operational readiness, transition, activation, and integration plans for major transportation infrastructure projects.
• Oversees the identification, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring of operational, program, and organizational risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Supports integrated approaches to scheduling, cost management, risk management, and performance reporting across project and operational stakeholders.
• Collaborates with project delivery teams, operations personnel, clients, and external partners to ensure alignment of priorities, objectives, and performance expectations.
• Develops and implements key performance indicators, governance processes, and continuous improvement initiatives to drive accountability and operational excellence.
• Provides strategic guidance on safety management systems, operational assurance, organizational change management, business continuity, and risk management practices.
• Represents AECOM in client meetings, executive workshops, alliance environments, and collaborative delivery models requiring strong stakeholder engagement and consensus-building skills.
• Determines and executes strategic direction to support operational excellence, client satisfaction, and financial performance.
• Works in conjunction with district, regional, and business line leadership to support the successful delivery of transportation programs and initiatives.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Transportation, Business, Public Administration, Operations Management, Safety, or a related discipline plus 10 years of relevant experience, leading multidisciplinary teams within complex transportation, transit, infrastructure, operational, or program environments.
• 2+ years of leadership experience
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Public Administration, Engineering, Transportation, Safety, or a related discipline.
• 15+ years of experience within transportation, transit, infrastructure, operations, or major capital project environments.
• Experience in governance, performance management, operational readiness, risk management, organizational transformation, or major program delivery.
• Experience supporting collaborative delivery models, including Alliance, Progressive Design-Build, P3, Integrated Project Delivery, or similar environments.
• Demonstrated experience developing governance frameworks, performance accountability systems, executive reporting, and organizational risk management programs.
• Experience integrating operations and maintenance requirements into major transportation infrastructure programs.
• Professional designation such as P.Eng., PMP, CRSP, or equivalent.
• Strong executive communication, stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and consensus-building skills.
