Full Job Description
The Impact You'll Make

You won't inherit a finished operation. You'll help build one.

Success means creating a transportation organization that is proactive, collaborative, and driven by data.

What You'll Do

  • Lead enterprise transportation operations across both agricultural transportation and refrigerated distribution. This includes private fleet as well as third party carrier networks.
  • Develop and coach both Transportation Managers and Carrier Managers while providing leadership across a team of approximately 175 transportation professionals.
  • Improve fleet utilization, transportation costs, service performance, safety, and customer satisfaction.
  • Build KPI management systems that drive accountability and operational excellence.
  • Optimize transportation strategy through carrier management, benchmarking, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with Operations, Warehousing, Production, Customer Service, Procurement, and the rest of the Supply Chain to solve problems and improve network performance.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, food safety, animal welfare, and company safety standards.
  • Support long-term transportation strategy, technology adoption, and organizational growth.

This is a rare opportunity to transform an enterprise transportation organization while working alongside senior leadership. You'll have the autonomy to improve processes, influence business strategy, develop future leaders, and position yourself for continued career growth within a growing supply chain organization.

Who Will Thrive in This Role?

You'll be successful if you enjoy building teams, creating accountability, and improving complex transportation operations. You naturally collaborate across departments, use data to make decisions, challenge the status quo, and view problems as opportunities to improve the business.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced transportation leader with a proven track record of leading private fleet and carrier operations, improving operational performance, and developing high-performing teams. You'll bring strong business and financial acumen, a deep understanding of transportation compliance, and the ability to influence cross-functional partners while driving measurable results. Experience in food manufacturing, refrigerated transportation, or agricultural logistics is a plus.

Skills & Mindset

The leaders who succeed in this role take ownership, move with urgency, and use data to improve performance. They build accountability, develop people, and work collaboratively to solve problems across the business. Above all, they embrace continuous improvement and lead in a way that reflects the Clemens Way.
